Of course I will watch but I won't turn it on until all of the song playing and chances to kneel are over.

Find any Saints game from about 1983 to early 90s. The Dome Patrol started with Bum Phillips. He drafted Rickey Jackson, and was already among the most respected defensive minds in Football. You know his son, Wade. Wade's still using his dad's strategies and techniques, and is still a highly sought-after DC. The fandom really got fun, right after Bum took the bags off people's heads, bringing the team nearly overnight respect, and sugar plum visions for the fanbase and for New Orleans. We didnt get any rings, still, for a long while, but there were many victories, and completely electrifying moments, which would, if you watched them now, bring you to your feet. I'll start you out with this amazing contest. Jimmy the Greek, (also a victim of the "racism" WitchHunt) didnt give the Saints a chance.

I'm not really trying to debate the point but I'm not sure if they will ever be close friends. Drew is arguably trying hard to make things right. But I just can't imagine someone bad mouthing me in public then buddying up to me when he got his way. It's obvious that they are team mates who want to win. But will they ever be close team mates?

Drew is a better man than I am because I could not let this go after a discussion. However, to all outward appearances it would look like we are fine and would support each other as team mates but I would not have feelings for him one way or the other. He would no longer be a human part of the process but a necessary chess piece.

Somehow I believe that this grievance will truly hurt Drew more than anyone will ever know. He may not have the fierce drive to protect the very people who viciously attacked him(New Orleans). I hope he gets a final season worthy of his HOF success and then moves back to San Diego to raise his family.

I wouldn't blame him if he decided that he could play longer but doesn't want to put in the work for New Orleans.:poke:

I have a feeling you, and some others, probably took it FAR more personally than did Brees himself. I have been closely following Brees' career ever since Phillip Rivers was "traded" to the Chargers. Having attended NC State I was a huge fan of Rivers, but after learning about Brees and much of what he had overcome even at that point I actively began pulling for him to keep the starting job. I was understandably stoked when we were able to sign him. I've read his book twice. The man is genuine. If he says that he and Jenkins are still friends I believe him. Two intelligent friends talking can overcome much. As Jenkins said they both have Jesus Christ in common and that's what is most important. I seriously doubt what was blown completely out of proportion for some is in any way a factor on his desires to keep playing. Especially after he wins another Lombardi this season. He said he wants to continue playing as long as he enjoys the game and can play at a high level. It's hard not to enjoy playing a game when you and your team has success.

19-0 Baby!

Quite the contrary. The season is looking more and more likely by the day. Why don't you crawl back into your hole and let others actually enjoy?

To be honest spkb it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if they did the way this crap is going, really don't seem or feel like football anymore. Feels more like politics and bending over backwards to give a bunch of players with big mouths keeping certain subjects going in the public eye. Total bull....

You have every right to tune out. The rest of the world is starving for football right now. I expect you will be tuning in, however, no matter where you think your desire is at this moment.

I wouldn't expect if I were you about me. I could live without tv, their prices sux, not to much real stuff on it period, nothing but violence, fake news, political bull crap to name a few. I watch the weather channel for the well, weather, survival shows, shark week and sometimes old cartoon other than that not much more catches my interest like it used to. I don't have to be glued to a tv. Nature is so much more real. Give me a campfire, tent, fishing rod, gun, kayak, water (being a river or lake) and skoal on a decent weather weekend and I could care less about who does what. How much better can that be? Oh, I do love my garden!!

I get you on TV in general. I do like to have (live) sports on at least in the background, yet never miss any NFL games. With all the shutdowns it's only on these days for American Pickers, and a couple of other History channel shows. I spend quite a bit of time "picking" myself, and researching and restoring vintage smalls for resale.

Projection. I am starved for football therefore the world is starved for football. There will be many that still watch but there will be a noticeable decline. If they do cancel the season watch what happens when people realize they don't actually need it.

Here goes another one of the "whats your point in being here is you don't like and enjoy my opinion". I made this clear to someone else who already asked, go back and read. Meanwhile look at all my comments since that point and tell me which at all actually discusses the saints or football in anyway but political ?

BTW, the animals made it political, im just following suit.

You can't possibly be that obtuse. Then again, maybe so. It is expected that NFL viewership will be at record breaking levels this season. You truly do not have a grasp of reality it appears. You, my friend, are the one projecting. Reality is that only a tiny percentage of the world population is in alignment with your personal political and racially biased viewpoints when it comes to the NFL. You are living in your own tiny little world.

I would gladly place a bet that there would NOT be "a noticeable decline" in viewership numbers, but I seriously doubt I could ever trust you to pay up when you lose. I'd even give you 2:1 odds. It'd be like taking candy from an obtuse baby.

This thread still has a pulse?

Here, I will say it, haven't seen it mentioned yet.

Kaepernick set out to be disruptive and target people that had nothing to do with his cause (civilians are not committing police brutality). That group in turn allowed it self to be disrupted and are targeting a company that has nothing to do with Kaepernick (the league isn't targeting the public).

Kaepernick wins. He has disrupted your lifestyle and now lives rent free in your head. Congratulations, you are not very different than Colin Kaepernick.

Sure thing! When someone doesn't come to me in private to discuss something of this magnitude but would rather call me out in public then that person is a back stabber. I am always willing to negotiate. That's what I am highly successful at in my personal and professional life. He never gave Drew the opportunity to set the matter straight before going public. Friends don't do that...back stabbers do. Fair enough?

I remember a story in the Bible, Paul and Silas were beaten and put in chains in Philippi...but an earthquake broke their shackles.

Not only did they not take it upon themselves to escape, but they refused to leave quietly after the leaders of Philippi realized they had beaten and jailed Roman citizens, which was unlawful.

Paul said "we were beaten and jailed publicly, and we will leave in the same manner." So the Philippi magistrates had to come down and make a public appeal to the missionaries to leave Philippi.

You don't go dumping on people publicly if you're not ready to be dealt with likewise. Drew could've been very public and probably humiliated Jenkins -- but that's the difference between a true leader (Drew), and a mere wannabe (Jenkins).

Just because you wear bow tie, grew a beard, have a bachelors degree, can match your shoes and socks, and have won a Super Bowl doesn't make you leader. You have to discipline yourself before you can attempt to discipline others.

Friends forgive friends. Christians are supposed to forgive. How you would feel in the same situation does not mean Brees should feel the same way. Not that I blame you for feeling that way. He is his own person. By every measure I have seen a very outstanding person.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Mediaafter Friday’s game. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
