Even if Andrew Luck did return to the NFL, I often don't understand the love. He seemed like a great guy sure, but he had 171 touchdowns vs 127 ints / fumbles combined.

Guy was a turnover machine.

Don't even remotely see Luck returning to the NFL let alone finding his way down to New Orleans. Pretty much next subject...

To be fair, I'm under the understanding that the Colts had a terrible pass protecting O-line when Luck played, which is why he often took a beating and hence retired early.

Just like Brett Favre was? First 5 years as a starter ..........77 inteceptions.
Just like Dan Fouts was? First 5 years..............................89 interceptions.

We have 2 guys on the roster that I feel can be NFL starters. Barring a trade for someone we know will work out, I think we just let the situation resolve itself and quit thinking about it too much. I think from Payton's vantage point, both guys could be the starter next year. They'll both get a lot more work in training camp than they normally would have with Brees being there. By the start of the season, Payton will have a pretty strong opinion. If neither work out, then there's the draft.
