It actually only has guarantees for the first three years. After that it is solely roster and workout bonuses and a minimal base salary. They can release him anytime after those first three years with no dead cap whatsoever.

Guaranteed is all that is relevant, players hold out and teams trade or cut. The Chiefs just secured the ability to get something back for Mahommes should he become a liability within the next 10 years. |
