I don't remember anyone declaring Jacob Blake as any sort of "hero". Nor any of the others being recognized as having been inequitably treated by a few bad cops. The name tags were there as a gesture agreed upon via vote by the whole team. Every single player had the same name tag on their helmet. The individual players did not make that decision independently. But, regardless, the labeling it as hero worship of some sort is ludicrous and totally misinformed, just as the ludicrous notion that kneeling during the national anthem had something to do with the military. A number of persons made that connection because they were upset that the "uppity" blacks were complaining. These people claimed that they were upset because the military was being disrespected by the kneeling and claimed that the "uppity" blacks should find another way to protest. Well, now the same people are complaining about this other method of bringing attention to the inequalities. Is it truly the military being disrespected or are the "uppity" blacks and white snowflakes disrespecting someone else, instead?

I doubt Jacob Blake's victim cares too much for the distinction you are trying to make. The man is a repeat sexual offender and his victim deserves to have what he did to her to be taken into consideration before celebrity athletes adorn their helmets with his name.

I can see where there is room to argue against the position that kneeling during the anthem is disrespectful to the military. I can also see the argument for why it is disrespectful to those who have served, even if that is not the intent.

What I can't agree with is the position that kneeling is not disrespectful to the National Anthem and the flag. O have heard that argument made and it is, IMO, disingenuous. Showing contempt is exactly the purpose.

If anyone had any doubt that "the movement" was destructive before Memorial Day, there has been more than enough evidence since to remove that doubt. The people who have suffered the most are the most vulnerable who live in those communities.
