Re: NFL.com | Drew Brees: 'I'm on borrowed time' as Saints enter Super Bowl or bust season
It really sucks that Drew is going to go out the way he is - alienating the very people who once stood in line to buy a copy of his book. Hard to believe that a man who folded when we needed him the most once wrote a book emphasizing courage.

I have no problem with him but if we are losing the boo birds are going to come out quick once fans are back in the stands.

I wasn't aware of any "boo birds" out there to return. Besides, I'm not envisioning the Saints tobe doing much losing once again this season. They are better (on paper) top to bottom than they were each of the past three seasons in which they went 37-11.

Borrowed time can last several seasons. Although This Jacob Blake crap(rapist and thief) could certainly lead to a quicker exit than Drew had planned.

As long as the Saints are competitive, as they have been over the past three seasons, I can very easily see the answer to both of those questions being "yes" once again following this season. Especially if we win a second Lombardi. The only other thing that may be a factor is if Tom Brady continues playing. I truly believe Brees wants to keep all of those records he holds for someone other than Brady to catch sometime in the future. |
