Is this Brees' Last Year at QB?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Simple question before the Saints season begins. Is this Drew's last year? Yes or no? I say yes. No matter what happens I think he calls it quits at the end of this season....

Yes. I believe Winston was brought in to supplant Brees next year.

I believe so too, Rez. If Winston gets his head and ass wired together we’ll be in great shape next year

I’m one of the no votes but it would not surprise me if is does retire at the end of this season.

Never was a Winston fan but by all accounts in the media he has been a hard working with a positive attitude and well liked by he’s teammates.

Young with tons of arm strength and athletic ability I certainly feel as though he has an advantage Over Taysom with his 4 years experience reading NFL defenses.

But can he improve his Game Managment skills to go along with his arm strength. If that happens he brings the whole field into play on any and every snap.

If Drew does retire it will be a very interesting Offseason and Training camp to follow. May the best QB win.

Ruby that’s why I voted “NO”, but Brady is much more likely to retire first. Brees wants all the records so if Brady goes on so does Brees if healthy and well.

If a team can pressure Brady up the middle and take away the short outside pass routes Brady will go down often because he is just not that mobile compared to Brees. If our defensive backfield can give our Defensive Line an additional .5 seconds rush time this year ... watch out.

No matter how good a shape a 43 year old body Is in it will breakdown if he Is getting hit any frequency. It’s a young mans game and Brady and Brees are true outliers to the position.

That's certainly a factor. Drew is on top of so many records that Brady might need two seasons to catch up. Brady probably won't hit 4,000 yards this season but I wouldn't be shocked if he did with so many large players catching the ball.

That said, I think he's ready to get in the booth and make money that doesn't require terrific athletes from damaging his body. Also, I think he wants to get as far away from the attacks he's suffered because he is in a position that he can't say or do the right thing regardless of his audience.

Brady is within reach of the touchdown record, and he could pass Brees tomorrow.

Who says Brees wants all the records?

That body has to break down first. If the Bucs are successful, he won't retire.
