LB snap counts:

Demario Davis LB 212 100.00%
Alex Anzalone LB 161 75.94%
Kaden Elliss LB 5 2.36%
Tampa game - 1st and goal at the 10, 3 TE set for Brady with the fake to RB and hits OJ Howard wide open in the back of the endzone. Ellis was caught flat footed guarding no one.

Green Bay game - 4th quarter, Saints down by 3. ARod with a naked boot leg to Robert Tonyan for 6. Again, KE responsibility.

Both missed assignments by Ellis. Not Demario, not Alex, or Jenkins.

Not sure why there was a need for you to show me snap counts when I clearly stated Kaden has been beaten for tds. TWICE IN THE REDZONE. He's not only beaten 2'x for TD's, but clearly confusion on his part on both.

Zach Baun needs to be playing in his place on those formations.

I'm on to Detroit.

Perhaps neither Baun or Ellis aren't up enough on the defense to be effective. Both young and no OTA's or minicamp.

Both young, yes, very true. Ellis however, being drafted in 2019, was afforded all of last year’s full luxuries, including preseason, training camp, etc... He did play in a handful of games last season also, iirc. It shouldn’t take two years to at least not look “lost” while on the field. Bottom line, I would rather see the newly drafted rookie instead of the guy you know can’t play up to speed.

Tbh, I think he was injured 99% of the year. I could be wrong. But I think he was placed on IR before the season or at the beginning of it.

I think he was more of a ST player, seems to be the norm for Payton’s rookies. But, he did have 3 starts last year, can’t really tell you if ultimately wound up on IR.

Another factor is the five total snaps on defense over the first three games. It has to be difficult to come in on two or three plays a game in crucial situations as a young player. I'd rather have a more experience player in at that moment. Perhaps Baun could have done better.

Agreed, and fully understand. Whether “it has to be difficult to come in on two or three plays a game” is an excuse or a reason, is another argument to be had, lol. When you do get the opportunity to showcase your talent, it’s always best to start off on the right foot. It tends to quiet down any naysaying that might be happening.

Here’s hoping the young man gets on the same sheet of music as everyone else very soon. Defense is going to need everybody’s full attention, every snap of every game.

So when do they get the experience? If you believe in them, drafted them, or signed them, play them! Let them grow and do your job and coach them...

How about playing them for more than two or three snaps a game to start with. LOL! That's Dennis Allen's call. Maybe Nolan would have had him more ready.
