Serve me up with a plate of crow because now I see a guy getting open, making tough catches in traffic and winning a high percentage of his one on one match ups.

Congrats to Smith on the WIN & another solid performance.

Keep grinding.
I was really happy to see Tre Quan making meaningful plays. Also looks like Sanders ~ Brees are getting in rhythm. I'm a little disappointed we're not getting 11 more involved.

I'm not a fan but when I was a loss was always counted the same and a win was too. So a win is a win. Saints fans should view it that way, IMHO

It was nice to see Drew finally trusting his receivers to make plays down field. I don't know what I would have done if we saw another game of checkdown after checkdown.

Really happy to see Tre contributing consistently throughout the game.

Good to see Cam get that sack of his back. Plenty more to come. He is not a player on the decline.

Murray doesn't get enough credit.

Patrick Queen should have been a Saint.

I, for one, am pretty glad they picked Ruiz with all the injuries to the O-line.

McCoy, Ruiz and Ramczyk are studs to build a dominant line upon for years to come.

To each their own. I've always had the opinion that impact interior lineman are a plenty in the mid rounds as they're often undervalued, under evaluated, and underdeveloped at the collegiate level. With such a shrinking window of opportunity of getting back to a Superbowl, we needed impact help on that second level.

With that said, I have no doubt Ruiz will be a good player.

Immediate impact players usually come in the first couple of rounds in my opinion. Payton's philosophy lately has been to draft linemen with a high draft pick then build the rest of the roster with 3rd and 4th rounders needing additional training. We got lucky with Kamara and Cee Dee Duce being available in the mid rounds.

When we drafted Anzalone it was a risk but Payton is a gambler by nature. No one else comes to mind when looking at our picks health record in college. Really, there's not a lot of players who were considered risks when we drafted them. Of course I'm probably missing someone and didn't mention them.

True, you can find good linemen even as UDFAs, but good linemen are the building blocks of offense and defense, so spending high draft picks on them is justified in my opinion.

Also, having the fifth year option that comes along with a first round pick gives added longevity to the lines, which is more important to line play chemistry than for skill positions.

There were many notables:

- Murray with 4.6 YPC and 2 TDs
- Smith being a factor in the offense.
- Sanders and Brees finding a groove
- Kamara with 119 total yards
- Season low of 4 penalties
- No Offensive penalties
- Harris now has 4 returns in excess of 40 yards

It wasn't a close game until the lead got large enough for our defense to change the way they were playing.

I missed the game entirely...but I did get engaged...so there's that.

I'll be back next week to offer my semi-educated opinion(s)...
