How does every single one of your players take step(s) back this year. Thats bogger than players issue thats a coaching scheme issue

I am waiting for our entire secondary to go rogue and play the way they want, towards their strengths. DA cant bench everyone, there aren't enough people.

It's hard to accuratly say why some players careers have different levels of success when they leave but maybe we don't have to look elsewhere.

1 whole season Marshon Lattimore looks amazing (considered shut down) , then nothing.
1 whole season Keenan Lewis looks amazing (considered shut down) then nothing.

Who is screwing with things? Players don't go from great to sucks in a single off-season.

Our secondary is consistently 1-2 steps behind which is reaction speed (having to think) oriented. Some time they are completely out of place which is unfamiliarity with the plan. Everything points to someone fu#$ing with things in the offseason.

I think there are times when Dennis Allan abandons his plan in the 4th and we see our defense come out and stop the other team in its tracks for a series or two.

I could be entirely off the mark but if Sean Payton ran his team like Jerry Jones he would have trouble finding and keeping DCs. They don't leave they get terminated.

I still don’t understand why we’re sitting here talking about defense. We shouldn’t be looking for the defense to be the strength of a team with an offensive minded coach. I expect the offense to perform the way they’re supposed to.

I expect a HOF QB to put up points like one. I expect us to get 6 points when we get into the redzone regardless who the defense is. I expect a “HOF” coach to call better plays. Playcalling has been a problem week in and week out for years. I know...but look at the PPG and yards then right? Cool. Look at where I defense is ranked then.

How many years did people say if we even had a middle of the pack defense we could win the Super Bowl? Now we gotta have the 2001 Super Bowl Champs defense for people to be satisfied. We give up big plays? Yeah. So does every other defense in the NFL. I was watching Harrison Smith give up plays in coverage right before the Saints game. **** happens.

When we have a chance to score TD’s we need to score TD’s. Period. The New Orleans Saints should never get 3 and outted on offense. Not with all that hype surrounding Brees, Kamara, and Payton.

Great Points, one question - Is Sean Payton really a HOF coach?

Having Brees all these years, unfettered organization power, and only one SuperBowl title? I'm no longer on that bandwagon...

Particularly Mr. Marcus and Marshon - they were better as rookies than they currently are...

Know once teams get film, adjustments are made, but we've seen a regression, decline in execution on the field that was rarely made their rookie seasons...

I think part of Paytons play calling is actually his methodology. He calls plays based on his gut and when you do that on a small level you become unpredictable, when you do that on a large scale you become extremely predictable because your gut responses tend to be consistently the same based on the same environmental influences if that makes sense... sort of like fight or flight instantly narrows possible actions.

This is 2020, I am taking the whole year with a grain of salt..

Three things that need to happen with this team right now...

Starts at the top with Payton turning play-calling over to Carmichael, at least for a while, to keep opponents from locking-in, especially those that set Taysom up to fail (not saying it's intentional)...

Second, Dennis Allen needs to be fired, he's been just as horrible as Ryan, Spagnuolo were and a message of accountability needs to be sent to the players...

Third, safety play has been atrocious with definite confusion with a number of missed assignments, and poor execution, especially tackling - we need a change there...

Now, the local media is marginalized by an over-bearing, tight-fisted VP of Communications; and any and all criticism of Sean Payton's coaching, management in the Press will result in retaliatory consequences by him...

Having a few media friends in the City, I've witnessed this first-hand a couple of times, so maybe I just might have more insight than some of you into that aspect of the team of zero tolerance for public criticism...

When you give someone absolute control of any organization, or even nation for that matter, and even a genuine press is unable to check that individual - it usually results in a long-winding, deteriorating spiral...

We've had the most accomplished passer in NFL history and only one title to show for it; sure, there's a lot of luck involved with the tournament, but but if your watching events with an open, critical mind, you'd see trends...

My former position, if you go back and review, was that Brees and his agent were being greedy and Brees was the beneficiary of Payton's system; like a big boy, I can admit when I'm wrong and reversed it...

Reversed it because I can see the same repetitive mistakes by Sean Payton has resulted in mediocrity results despite one of the best, if not the best, well-stocked rosters in the NFL...

So coming here, stating one's take in a logical, clear manner, inserting a lil' sarcasm and humour to go with it (if you're not too sensitive to the criticism), is a perfectly healthy outlet...

I've blocked no one on this site because I'm not some mental weakling who needs a safe space to operate; but if what I or someone else makes uncomfortable post(s), please block the posts if that'll help you...

I've had my share of clashes with personalities here over the years, and I choose first to question the post, not the poster; but I'm more than willing to accommodate those who choose to make it personal...

A lot of p*ssing and moaning about the coaching staff that's responsible for two division titles in the last three years. Playoff's in each of the last three years. Continually puts a team out there week in week out that has a good chance to compete, and a very good chance to win. Went in to a tough Chicago's field without our top three receivers and stole a victory to keep us battling for top of our division. Every week I come to this board and to hear most of you talk you'd think we'd lost and are a crap franchise like the Jets or Lions. When the wheels do fall off I seriously am concerned for some of you guys' mental health.
