Re: USA Today Saints Wire | Saints vs. Bears recap: Everything We Know After Overtime Victory
Takeaways from the Game...
- Saints Need A Real GM to take Sean Payton to task on his Game Management and Play Calling
- Cam Jordan is not his obvious greatness, but worse, he's not good either as he's struggled against 2nd/3rd string right tackles for several games now
- Trey Hendrickson's sack at the end looked like he had to give very little effort vs Cam Jordan's where he fell forward catching Foles nearly on his knee which could've been flagged...
- Drew was definitely locked into Kamara as his primary, secondary receiver; Payton's gotta pull Kamara when calling pass plays to snap Drew out of his target fixation...
- If fans think getting Thomas, Sanders, and Calloway back is gonna improve Brees' Intended Air Yards/Pass Attempt, I'd like to discuss an investment opportunity with you...
- Demario Davis had a very inconsistent game; not sure if he's trying to do more than he should, but when he messes up, bad things happen, luckily the Bears' offense stinks...
- Another game, another week of weak Safety play; how do you show Cover-2 and then have both Safeties run out and leave the center of the field wide-open?!?
- Is Sean Payton's ego is reaching critical mass that he would see the team's season go up in flames than give Carmichael the keys for a few weeks to get some #perspective?
- Why are Zach Baun and Adam Trautman not seeing more playing time other than kick coverage?
- Jared Cook is not the play-making TE fans hoped he'd be, but a garbage time, tertiary option that teams lose focus on before he makes plays, unless he gets multiple chances - don't count on him...
- Interested to see Ty Montgomery back this week as he'll have to be activated or release (3 week rule) and how Sean will deploy him and for how many snaps; Kamara is gonna get wore down...
- I'd like to see Dennis Allen be made available more to the media to explain his defensive philosophy and objectives; Cam Jordan can barely rush the passer and he dropped the big lug into coverage?!?
- Payton must deploy Taysom Hill with more variety, as he did on Taysom's TD Reception - many of the plays are consistently the same, predictable...
- Troy Aikman, a heavily concussed man, sounded smarter than Sean Payton questioning Sean's Game Management, Play Calling; Aikman sounded like he was pleading with Brees to throw the ball downfield...
- While I can do without the whole alter-ego, rap-master distractions, I've no problem with Gardner playing f*ck-f*ck games with the opponent, so long as the Saints don't incur a costly penalty...
- Know it's an MCL, but I believe if there was a sliver of hope Rankins would be signed with the Saints, it's gone with this latest injury; hope it really is just a minor MCL sprain and nothing worse for him...
- Have I mentioned Brees Intended Air Yards/Pass Attempt? It's really become a theme, and it's a problem die-hards don't won't to face...
- So someone in the media got told to write a fluff-piece on how brave Mr. Glass was playing through his injury tonight; I'd thought his generous conract would've made it clear to him...
- Wonder if Ruiz is ever gonna take over Center? McCoy can flat out move and I'd like to have seen McCoy pulling from the RG on that Kamara dash down the left side - he's proven the speed already...
- Know they're having bad years elsewhere, but we were better defense with Mike Nolan and Vonn Bell in our locker room...
- Sean Payton's broken the non-disclosure rule re: injuries in the past, but if Cam Jordan really is healthy, maybe this is his last season?
- Will Michael Thomas really be traded? Maybe this offseason? If we really do acquire a player this week, say a Safety, will it really make a difference with DA as the DC?
