Taysom Hill - The Pocket Passer?

I saw the Eagles were spying him a lot but there is no excuse to not use Taysom's best attribute and throw in more designed runs.

If he doesn't see anyone open he needs to tuck it and run. He was hesitant to pass and scramble. The ol was bad but he also held onto the ball too much.

He is either banged up, coach is telling him to limit his runs, or he is limiting his runs on purpose to prove he can be the qb of the future.

If Hill isn't going to use his legs, let's see what Winston can do.

This. What they did with Hurts was exactly what we should have done with Hill. They kept him in a manageable down an distance. There were plenty of times Hill could have used his legs to pick up a few yard.

It seems like The QB talk has gotten to him and he wants to show that he can win with his arms from the pocket.

I think Taysom Hill can throw from the pocket. The issue today is that there was barely ever a pocket to throw from. He could have used his legs to to offset the rush, but for some reason Payton wanted to be stubborn about it. It seems like every year, we have a game where the OL plays like complete garbage. That was today. Taysom also made some mistakes(he didn't really do anything bad enough to make me completely lose faith in him though). He also should have ran a lot more. Lutz has to at least hit one of those two kicks.. he's just looked off lately(first time in his career I can really say that about him).

We also need to remember that Taysom is still on a learning curve! This was only his fourth game as a starter. He's won his first three games for us, which is excellent and we almost snatched a win yesterday and probably would have done if there had been a little more time on the clock.
Taysom will need a lot more games under his belt before he can become the QB we all want him to be! Just give hime some time! WHO DAT!

This and you are already down 1 QB, if Taysom goes down you have 1 and no backups to finish the season or enter the playoffs.

A lot of people complaining about Hills 1 fumble per game and wanting Winston in when Winston averaged 1.9 INTS per game in 2019 lol. :p

If I thought today was Taysom's fault I'd say so, but I don't think anyone would have played well with how our O-line played today. They were absolutely dreadful. Taysom is fast and a lot of times they were on him so quickly that he didn't even have time to scramble. I would have had more designed QB runs to throw them off, but this game is mostly on the O-Line.

Taysom needs to quit fumbling though.

Aaron Brooks was a better QB before Haslett turned him into a pocket QB. I get that we want to protect the QB, but Payton's not utilizing all of his talents.

He lost his swag on runs. That is a huge sign.

Being an NFL QB is not an easy job to do well Taysom has played beyond what many expected. But there are so many details and reads that he so far seems very slow to process. If it presents itself Ist 2nd read he has a chance much beyond that he’s stuck in limbo ... stay in pocket extend or takeoff running. Staying and extending particular while throwing on the run has been every uneven. His running style is not elusive but brute force power speed and can only assume that SP has reigned him in for his protection.

OPINION ... Not seeing what this team needs to win going forward.

I don't see any pocket presence or awareness.

But for me, I see Taysom as a guy who doesn't take care of the football & would rather take a sack than throw it away.

But in fairness, the O line protection was bad on yesterday.
