I recently read that offloading Emmanuel Sanders would save 6M against the cap in a trade & Latavius would be a little over 2.4M.

Two very good Saints players we stand a chance to lose.

But knowing we are willing to trade I would expect other teams to wait for the player to be released. They know the cap savings are the same for the Saints either way. Why give us something in return if they can get them at a lower market rate? While both were of value to us, neither demand a premium on the current reduced market. I fully expect both to be cut. Either or both could be re-signed however.

Probably. Or a team may want to not take the chance of letting him hit FA and make a low round offer. BTW I read an article mentioning Mack, Bell, and Booker as replacements for Murray who all would be less than 2 million.

Maybe. But most "insider" columnist are reporting that the cap is not expected to climb no more next year than it did this year...

IF that turns out to be the case, then teams may be willing to trade as the Saints generally have friendly contracts for most players this season not named Peat...

It'd be one helluva gamble if you're a contender and you're a Z receiver away from getting you over the top - we learned that lesson year before last not trading for Sanders, then...

Don't know about NT, but Sanders and Murray definitely have some cap friendly numbers considering their experience and skill level...

Say a team like JAX, likely to take Trevor Lawrence; they may want to make his transition to the NFL easier by bringing in veterans who'd be less of a liability installing a new offense...

We shall see.

We are going to be gutted by the time the season starts.

Do you have any examples of those "insider" columnists' predictions of no rise in the 2022 cap? I must have missed them.
