Hey win Im sure that I could pull out things that had him at 112 or 13. Thats not the point I was trying to make. The general overall concenus was that he was between 5 and 10. and after one game where he palyed a great COLLEGE
game they annoit him the King of the draft. I just dont buy it people were drooling over Vick and if you ask me he hasnt lived up to the hype. I just see the same thing. In that game he did not beat USC with his arm. He did it with his feet . In the NFL he will not be able to beat teams with his feet.

geeez... will u quit comparing Young to Vick... they are 2 totally different qbs in 2 totally different offenses... at VT, they mostly ran the football... running the option and mainly just pounding teams into submission... they did have some very good rbs while vick was there.... while at TX the offense was mostly pro style with some wrinkles thrown in.... vick never was a good passer.. either in college or in the pros but VY leads the nation in passing eff. just b/c the guy can run and has that ability, dont fault the guy for that and say that he cant pass.....

you keep saying the samething over and over and over again, and we(we) keep telling you vince young was top ten last year, top 5 this year prior to the rose bowl. you maybe wasn't keeping up, sorry about that but he was top 5 prior to the rose bowl and #1 after.

I'm just going to say I would rather have Hawk and some defense than Leinhart and having to wait another year or two. Get a veteran QB and let AMAC or another QB in the draft learn for a year or two but with the defense in place
i was at the same thought as you, but a vince young comes around every 2 decades. besides i think the mlb at ohio state that was injured and didn't play against notre dame, forgot his name but he to me is just about as good as aj. hawk his best friend. he should be available with our 2nd pick.

I've been following Young since he played in US Army all-american game as a high school senior. He has always had all the tools to make it and succeed in the NFL. I've watched him evolve from a running QB who couldn't complete basic passes to one of the most efficient QB's in the nation this year. The bottom line is that Young's record in college is 30-2. With effective coaching, there is no reason he shouldn't succeed in the NFL. And for the record, Ryan Leaf was a phenomenal QB for the two and a half years he started at Washington State. He didn't just burst on the scene after a bowl game. Everyone and their grandma thought he would be a great NFL QB. What we all failed to realize was that Leaf was an "all-pro" jackass.

I don't think he was top 10 last year... though he has been on the radar every since he came to UT. He's a far better "quarterback" this year than he was last.

And about a statement about Young playing with far less talent than Leinart is non-sense IMO. USC along with Texas usually end up with the best recruiting classes every single year. Both programs produce tons of prospects for the NFL.

To say Young is a quarterback that comes around every two decades... wow. I think you're just hyping him up to fail here. I can name plenty of quarterbacks within the last two decades that Young will probably never match up to.

The MLB's name is Bobby Carpenter. We should be able to scoop him up in the second or third round if we choose. When you have the chance to take a QB like Young, you have to take it. All things being equal, you always take the quarterback over any other position.

Vick and Young are very similar QBs VY is not a great passer. Passing Eff doesnt tell all. Shaun King led the nation in Passing Eff. his sr year, but I wouldn't classify him a great passer.
