I don't think Flynn is bad either. How much real game time has he actually gotten? And Miami ain't too shabby and he washed them up. don't care about turnovers in mop up duty, I care what he did when he started bell to bell against Miami. What more do you judge him on than his last performance? And there were NUMEROUS games last year was Jamarcus was just coasting, playing very bad, and then when it was desperate decided to play. Kinda Brooks like if anyone was. Flynn should be given a clean shot to start, and if he beats Jamarcus out, so be it. I like his athleticism better anyway. But trying to diss the guy on some mop up games over him playing a full BOWL game and excelling isn't gonna work for me. LET'S GO MATT!!!!!

That's the point I believe Pak & I were trying to make to you. This guy was the National High School Player of the Year & USA Today's Offensive Player of the Year his Senior year in High School. He's big, fast, & athletic with a strong arm and uncanny accuracy. Here's a little info. on the guy..........

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Ryan Perrilloux

Personal stats: 6-3, 223 pounds, quarterback, East St. John (Reserve, La.)

By the numbers: Completed 225 of 342 passes for 3,546 yards and 30 touchdowns and rushed for 1,460 yards and 37 TDs this season. Totaled 12,715 yards and 157 TDs in four seasons.

There is a reason every major college program in the country wanted this guy, & it's the same reason we red-shirted him. He's the real deal & we here at LSU would like to give him as many years of playing time as possible.

Don't forget, with Russell, he played probably the second half the season after injuring his wrist against Florida, including the Bama win in OT. Along with shoulder surgery he had wrist surgery, so he was playing with a pretty bad wrist.

The offense had a lot of problems last year - lots of injuries on the OL, Addai with a bad ankle most of the year; WR's dropped a LOT of balls. Bowe actually had eye surgery recently, and it's possible some of his drops were because of that problem.

LSU also had a ridiculously bad turnover ratio finishing -9. No other team that finished in the top 10 was that bad.

There were a lot of variables that make judging the QB's on last year difficult. It's good to have that much talent.

Is this the same Whodi that was saying not to be so big on Mario Williams, because he had a couple of big games this year but didn't show up for the others? LOL

Wait, are we confusing a big game in a BOWL game with big games against Middle Tennessee State during the season? Me thinks so. Tighten up your game ghandi, that one was off. lol

Why would they simplify the offense for a guy that has been there what, 3 years now? At least two. And even if they did, you are telling me that with a month for the Miami defense to prepare, he was still able to excel like that in a "simplified" offense? Start him.

Wish I coulda made that trip. Never thought they'd give that kind of a*skicking (during and after the game).

I don't remember seeing anything about them simplifying the O, though. I thought it was pretty normal, but with a few added wrinkles - like Skyler Green lining up at center. Really, I thought Fisher did a little more with the offense in that game.

Start him.
Be careful what you wish for Whodi? He was definately ON in the Peach Bowl. I'll agree 100% on that, but I've watched this guy play since High School. When he's off, he's Aaron Brooks-Todd Bouman OFF. Also, Jamarcus had to play with Joe Addai & key offensive linemen missing in his "bad" games this year. Not to mention, our receivers had an a**load of dropped balls that hit them square in the chest in those games (Tenn., Arizona State, Auburn, & Georgia) All were healthy & quite hyped after losing to Georgia & going into the Peach Bowl. And I'll also say our receivers didn't drop much in that game, either. Not to say Jamarcus is better. They both have their assets. Jamarcus has a better arm. Matt is more mobile. To be honest with you though, after watching all the practices & the "Purple & Gold" game last year, I think Perriloux will be better than both.
