Is the Saintsí offense ruining Mark Ingram?:

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Ingram played just 13 snaps on Sunday, producing a totally ineffective 11 yards rushing on five carries (he also had one catch for negative-1 yard). He seemed hesitant when he had the football, but is the Saintsí play-calling to blame? ...

Is the Saintsí offense ruining Mark Ingram?:

Ingram played just 13 snaps on Sunday, producing a totally ineffective 11 yards rushing on five carries (he also had one catch for negative-1 yard). He seemed hesitant when he had the football, but is the Saintsí play-calling to blame? New Orleans ran 42 offensive plays on second, third or fourth down Sunday in Green Bay ó only four were runs, and just one by Ingram. Thatís way too predictable, and it helps explain why Ingram seems totally misused so far this season.

Preaching to the choir. IF any other member was used as Ingram has been used they would be about as productive.

If lance Moore only went in on plays where he ran an 10 and out, a defense would be shutting him down too.

Run blocking is as basic as football can get. Ingram is a good back but slamming him up the middle on obvious running plays will never work.
We're being outcoached and our play calling in certain situations is so basic (and predictable) it's almost like high school.
The irony in that... He is a guaranteed 2 yards nearly... 4th and 1.. We pass. 1/2/3 and goal on the 2 yard line, we pass.

Even the announcers were like "well Ingram is in, they're running...". The guy has talent but it's just so obvious.

And what happened when we finally play-actioned to Ingram? Bammm, over the top to Morgan for a zillion yard touchdown.

Where the hell is the TE in the seam or the quick slant when they're putting 8 in the box?

Breaking down an NFL defense is like untying a knot in your kid's fishing rig...

you'll pull some back, pull some left, some right, some forward until you've got it unraveled...

Saints have just got to get all those outside weapons burning 'em, but we still are in need of some offensive tackles...

Conversely, our defense is more of a slip knot...

That may be missing due to all of the batted balls lately. More than I have seen in recent years.
