Your kidding! What the hell has happened there?

A few weeks ago SP was praising him saying he finally looked healthy, what an absolute mess.

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

Lol. Although I believe he can still play I was always a little concerned about him. Even though many people compared him to sproles they are not the same type of back. But it begs the question of what role did they envision for him when they first signed him?

He's better than Cadet. Why not cut Cadet instead?

He must have annoyed Payton in some way.

Pretty sure you meant Murphy and not Cadet. Murphy sucks so bad.

He's fully healthy by all accounts so it's truly baffling.

Just about to post that

What a absolute waste of cap
Somebody should be getting held responsible for these signings

Needed a new CB and couldn't put Breaux on IR otherwise Rankins would be out for the season

Second year of a 16 mil contract, congrats Payton and Loomis you've done it yet again.

How many more contracts are we going to give out and then cut the player the next season?

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

Spiller was unnecessary signing. Way to soft for RB position. His pass protection is laughable.

I totally dont get this at all. We couldnt at least get some backup from another team for him?

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

Id be very tempted to put Ireland in charge of recruitment if i was running things. Keep Loomis to run the team and count the beans but something needs to change.

I dont blame them for Byrd,he was a good player before he came here and shoild have been perfect for Ryans D but injuries have been tbe issue as much as anything.

But the rest have been bad for a while on the whole Fleener, Hawthorne,Spiller etc etc

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

God forbid if Ingram gets hurt then you have Hightower, Lasco, and those two clowns left. That won't scare nobody. Hightower is solid but no Spiller in the talent category thought they'd run him healthy to see if he'd pan out, i guess not, more dead money. Seems like they actually like having dead money hanging around every year

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

If he was a low salary player, would anyone be surprised?

lee909 09-13-2016 05:05 PM

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

I've no issue with cutting him. The contract was just stupid to start with. He can't play 16 games and has shown bothing in years. Hightower has shown more in the past 12 months

Clearly he was the reason the Saints lost Sunday.

I just don't even....this is getting old quick. I started to wonder why we didn't trade him and then realized no one would pay the stupid salary we gave him. Stupid.

I just don't understand our team anymore. We seem like such a rudderless ship.

Honestly? Not surprised by it even at his current salary. This is how they operate, and sitting him Sunday was way too weird, we all know it. The whole "didn't fit in the game plan" bit was nice window dressing, but it still smelled fishy. It's a shame this move never worked out. I really thought he could be a difference maker here.

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

Why has Payton made this so political and secretive for the fans and media? It puts more distractions on the team because those guys probably know the truth.

Seems like not that long ago CJ was killing it for Clemson. I just don't get it. Anyway, best of luck to Spiller.

Because we are. Payton is a drunk and an addict and his erratic behavior is starting to show more and more

All but $5.6 million in dead money goes off the books at the end of this season. Not an issue going forward. Not that big of a deal at this point in time.

Spiller was a bust, I'm glad we have no problem admitting mistakes and moving on, regardless of money. Most fans probably wish their teams would do the same.

Most fans aren't so anal about money that has nothing whatsoever to do with them.

Is this sarcasm and I just missed it?

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

I would throw the bank at somebody like Nick Caserio(Patriots Director of Player Personnel since 2008 and been with the Pats 15 years) to come in and take charge of the Personnel/Scouting/GM role to work with Loomis(Bean Counter). The problem is im not sure who is in charge of what happens wih the team these days. Paytons and Loomis leads are too long and there seems nobody to answer too
