Hi Everyone.

I thought it somewhat necessary for my intellectual health to write at least something on the foolishness surrounding the so-called "Debt Crisis." I hope you all remember that I have no dog in this hunt, save that I am partial to eating and sleeping safely in my home, working for a wage, and not being persecuted for my beliefs.

For all those who wonder whether it would be catastrophic to allow the US to default on its obligations, the answer is yes....

I'd like to get on my soapbox for a bit about the Ryan Braun situation. What you are about to read will probably go against the common public opinion - which is already labeling Braun as a cheat and a fraud and ready to jettison Braun with an endless and unrelenting supply of taunts this coming season.

But I, for one, have been impressed with the professionalism and maturity that Braun has shown during this process. Let's give this man credit. Given the gravity of the allegations...

Our country is losing its way. We vote ourselves benefits and perks and earmarks while simultaneously foisting the bill on someone else, justifying it by using the theory that the intellectually and philosophically superior society is better off with those provisions. Its insidiousness has led to a culture of moral hazard.

I would also urge you all to consider the ramifications of Amnesty bill being discussed in the White House and what can be done to kill it. We are already knee debt in bureacracy and entitlements without this kind of legislation.
