Agreed
I just love denial. It's like watching your best bud getting abused by some man or woman. He/she refuses to see how nothing is going to get better until they take responsibility and change the dynamic. "You just don't know him/her like I do."
No, you don't know him/her like WE do.Posted 08-11-2011 at 08:45 AM by xan -

I am not suggesting that "showdown" isn't a viable or well worn strategy. This just happens to be that this is the first time in our history that the ridiculous threat of everyone in the world getting hammered mercilessly for the next 10 years in order to agree to pay our bills was used.
Our problem was never the government spending. It was the lack of revenues to pay for the programs we all voted for. (Don't give me that trite "I never voted for them" garbage. The bills were passed and the spending authorized. Home ownership, Science, Education, Defense, Medicare, Medicaid and SocSec have been around for 50 years or more. There hasn't been a single federal program that any of us hasn't either directly participated in or one of our family members/close friends have utilized.)
We should be all paying higher taxes for the privilege of living in a country that provides so much.
If any US citizen can make a verified claim that in no way were they the beneficiary of any US government program on the way to their standard of living, I'll give you my salary for a year. (BTW, if you even walk on a sidewalk, you fail the test... for that matter breathing America's Free air, you fail.)Posted 08-02-2011 at 02:17 PM by xan -
PATRIOT size moves..
They've set a blue print on how to run a successful organization years ago... then people started following suit. They scout well, draft well, trade well, ran well, so on and so forth... I'm glad we've made major strides into becoming, if not already, just like the New England Patriots.Posted 08-02-2011 at 11:27 AM by papz -

Any attack on the Tea Party or the Republicans for threatening a 'show down' is a valid one only if one will readily recognize the fact that there is not a political party in American's history who hasn't used the very same tactic as a means to the very same end since such a tactic was viable.
As usual, I agree with you in spirit, but let's not kid ourselves. This 'showdown' isn't new.Posted 08-01-2011 at 09:28 PM by saintfan -

Drew Brees not getting the respect he deserves
Peyton only has 1 title and he still gets plenty of respect.Posted 07-29-2011 at 06:36 AM by Saint_LB -
Saints to play 49ers in 17 days?
Well...it's the exact same boat that every single team is in. The entire league is playing their first game in 2 weeks to a couple days over that. Not much else can really be done about it.Posted 07-26-2011 at 05:10 PM by Danny Cox -
2011 NFL FA Options
Alternative to McClain
Brian Leonard would be a much less expensive alternative to McClain and he's proven to be a team first player since his time at Rutgers.Posted 07-26-2011 at 12:20 PM by jcp026 -
2011 NFL FA Options
At Fullback, I'd think Brian Leonard's game is a better fit to the Saints' scheme; plus, he's a team player whose past indicates he's willing to sacrifice stats to win...a rare quality in today's athlete.Posted 07-26-2011 at 08:57 AM by jeanpierre -
Drew Brees not getting the respect he deserves
i think Brady is a better QB than Rothlessburger. Two-dat sounds good to me. That's all that really matters and this is the year it could happen.Posted 07-11-2011 at 10:48 AM by NOS2SB -
Drew Brees not getting the respect he deserves
I agree, I'm just saying I would mention him before Tom Brady. Lets face it though, QB's dont get any respect unless they have multiple titles under their belts. Thats OK though, Brees will get another one before he retires. Hopefully its more than one though. I just want to be able to say TWO DAT!!!!Posted 07-10-2011 at 09:08 PM by joker-saint -
Drew Brees not getting the respect he deserves
Are you serious? Rothlessburger? I wouldn't even have mentioned his name. The Steelers won those SBs that he played in because of defense and bad calls.Posted 07-10-2011 at 05:06 PM by NOS2SB -
Drew Brees not getting the respect he deserves
So what does it take to be mentioned as a top 2 qb? I would have put rothlessburger up there before peyton manning or tom brady. Superbowl appearances? Superbowl wins? Playoff appearances? How bout work done off the field? Or maybe the fact that the reason the collective bargaining and lock out are even going on is because a guy like drew brees cares enough about his fellow players to represent them on the national stage? Go figure, he puts his ass on the line for them and still gets no respect.Posted 07-09-2011 at 01:58 PM by joker-saint -

Same ole thing.... Peyton Manning... blah blah blah
Tom Brady... blah blah blah....
Can't believe they didn't mention Matt Ryan (that's an EXTREMELY sarcastic joke)Posted 07-08-2011 at 09:53 AM by Halo
