LETTER TO THE GIANTS
Yea, WTF was that anyway. One safety? And why not just kick the field goal early in the game? I can see that later on, if they were really behind, but just hit the scoreboard with 3 points, and move on. No, it probably wasn't going to make much of a difference, but who knows. Nothing like being behind, even by a few points, to make a difference in the mentality.
I kind of feel like they might've had a feeling of despair, that if they did win, they'd just have to face GB again, then even if they managed a Teebow miracle and got through that one, they'd have to play the Saints' again, who seemed to improve between their two regular season games.
I don't know, maybe they just peaked during the Saints' first game. Perhaps they got the season-long feeling after losing that game that the team gets during a game, when the time is too short, and the points of the opponent are too high to win, and the play becomes listless and unmotivated.Posted 01-09-2012 at 12:45 PM by mike27 -

Beat by Both; A Lions fan's perspective on Saints/Forty-Niners
Also I feel like SF has a very weak schedule, so the Saints' 14-3 means a lot more than SF's 13-3--that said, it's a very good defense. I worry, but clearly I've got to pick the Saints'. But I sure hope they don't do their immediate fumble again. Maybe they shouldn't throw to Colston immediately, and let him get warmed up a bit.Posted 01-09-2012 at 12:26 PM by mike27 -
Beat by Both; A Lions fan's perspective on Saints/Forty-Niners
My main thought is, I hope the Saints' choose to practice a little outside, on turf. I know it may be more prone to injuries, so I'd compensate for that. I don't know if they do little things like that, but I think it would be a great idea.Posted 01-09-2012 at 12:25 PM by mike27 -

Thanks for the 'save' Mitch, that could have been potentially embarrassing . . . haven't been getting the History Channel on my cable and was having a hard time verifying the quote from the show, lol!

Well oiled machine
Answer to ddub19's question
Answer to ddub19's question: "Why do the Saint say " who dat"? because there too stupid to know how to spell "whos that!" Maybe its time to leave the swamp and go back to school!!!!" Unfortunately that is a chant that has stuck with this team since the early 80's. As far as them being too stupid to spell "Whos that!" I believe it is who's....lol, but thats ok. You also said "Why do the Saint say" It's a good thing spelling touchdown isn't required to put 7 on the board, because thats all Brees is going to do next week too. I believe this will be a very good game though. The niners do have a great defense. Who have they played? Seattle, 22nd in passing and 21st in rushing. Dallas, 7th in passing and 18th in rushing, and they lost.(No worries....We lost to them too when we were 13 and 0) Cincinnati, 20th in passing and 19th in rushing, pretty close game there too. Philidelphia, 9th in passing and 5th in rushing, which was a 1 point game. Tampa, 16th and 30th, and worst team in the NFC South. Detroit, 4th and 29th and you only won by 6 ^^^^ TAKE A LOOK AT THAT SCORE ^^^^ thats was you first 6 games and none of them were elite teams. ClE, 24th and 28th-WAS, 14th and 25th-NYG 5th and 32nd-17th and 24th-BAL 17th and 25th and so on and so forth.....The SAINTS are 1st and 6th. Lets hope your lights dont cut out on you during this game. Brees will definitely enjoy that down time.Posted 01-08-2012 at 04:03 AM by joker-saint -
Well oiled machine
Still waiting on a comment from the niners fans on this one
Still waiting to hear from some niners fans: Any defense can be ranked first againt the rush when they play teams who are on average 20th and below in rushing. The niners played one team that was ranked 5th which was the Eagles. Outcome 416 yards passing and 2 TD's by Vick, 108 rushing with 75 of those coming from Vick. Vick isn't even a running back. Do you think you will stop 3 top notch running backs if you couldn't even stop Vick? The outcome told the story there. 1 point game. Now place Sproles, Thomas, and Ivory back there along with the number 1 ranked passing in the league. Good luck Niners. This is a great match upPosted 01-08-2012 at 04:02 AM by joker-saint -
Pre Combine Draft Wish List
Drafty
Rick Reiprish, the mastermind behind the WAR ROOM on draft day, is interviewing for GM jobs. He's been around since the '05 draft and our roster has built from then like crazy.... happy for him and the nod to the Saints talent, but nervous for our drafts!!Posted 01-08-2012 at 12:35 AM by saintsknowit -
Punch'em in the mouth
IDK, it's not like all season our defense has had to be preoccupied for a team to run on us . . . 100yds is almost a given . . . we're hoping Fairley will make a difference, and Suh too if you guys haven't already figured out to just him blow into the backfield and run a trap like everybody else in the league has.
