I'm pretty good at sewing thanks to the time I spend in the military, but I can't knit for s#it.
Well, it seems like my Finnish hockey team could be in for a good season for once. They've dominated all their domestic preseason games and they've only lost one game in the European Trophy tournament, which is a preseason tournament for selected club teams from the Finnish, Swedish, German, Czech, and Swiss leagues.
My team finished 12th in the league last season and that was their worst finish ever during their 60-year history, so hopefully they'll have a bounce back year. They brought back their former HC under whom they won their last championship in 2003, so maybe that's another good sign.
What was surprising to me when I looked through their roster, was that they only have one foreign player on their roster, Chris Connolly, a recent graduate from Boston University.

Seems like he could be a decent two-way forward with good defensive skills, so maybe a 3rd liner with PK time, who knows? Usually they have at least three foreign players, but maybe they're hoping to fill some of those spots with NHLers if there in fact will be a lockout.
Anyway, the Finnish league starts next Friday, so at least there'll be some hockey in the meantime...
