Ha... I tried a different angle on Tebow because it wouldn't matter anyway.. He is way too polarizing.

Tebow has no fit in the NFL. Had Denver's defense not kept the game close enough for 1 TD to decide the outcome a few times he would not be called a "winner". If Tebow wasn't the spiritual person he is you could cut his fan base by 3/4, most people like him as a person and for his positive attitude.

So what are you left with? A very likeable guy and a good athlete which draws much love in certain circles. As the Football purists see him he can not block like a TE or HBack, could not be a Full Back and blow a LB out, not good enough hands to be a receiver, his mechanics are not good enough to be an NFL QB... He does not posses value as a backup Qb either, as you would have to have two game plans, one for your passing Qb and another for Tebow. His lack of NFL passing ability doesn't lend him to be a good Read option QB because defenses know he is not a passer.

He has no value on an NFL team.... Except for Jacksonville as they could use the people in the seats, and the revenue from jersey sales, and the fans that Tim Tebow would draw for them.

Tebow could disapear from the media with the Saints. Would the first couple of weeks be hell in NOLA? Yes, but Tebow is not going to take Drew's top spot.

The guy can win. He has proved that. Also, who better for him to sit back and learn from, other than Brady or Manning? If they bring him in, I won't have an issue with it.

I'm sorry Tulane fans, but I would feel better with a QB that has NFL playing time, plus playoff experience over a Conference USA QB. (In a crunch, if Drew were to go down)

Where has he proven he can win as an NFL QB? The Bronco's defense own the 2011 season.

As a QB Tim Tebow has a career comp percentage of 47.9%, and he throws 1 INT for every 2 TDs.

distraction city! don't need it, period. We need to get back to some semblance of football normalcy. No gimmicks, no added press smoke and mirror BS, just concentrate on football. Tebow, although a nice kid, has no home in NOLA.

Tebow would not create a QB controversy here because Brees is one of the best in the league. The media circus would at least be on a positive note this season after we spent all last season in the negative.
I think Sean Payton could make Tebow everything he is going to be in the NFL at whatever position he ends up in.

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints

You know, all this stuff about "he wins games" and "he just wins," the thing about that stuff is its impossible to argue against given the empirical data. Yes his ratio is terrible. No, he is not the typical NFL QB and no, he can't make the throws (except the one to Demaryius Thomas in the Pittsburgh game. That was a freaking clutch strike). When people say, "The Defense won those games" the proper statement should be "The defense kept them in those games so all TT had to do was find a way to get 6 points." He, somehow, is a clutch player that plays his best when the chips are down, and IMO there should always be room somewhere for a player like that on just about any team.

But the thing is, we already have a guy like that in DB.

I would much rather the roster spot go to a still-wet-behind-the-ears rookie QB like this Ryan Griffin kid who is 6'4, 220, with a howitzer for an arm, who can "make all the throws," as I've heard said about him. Why wasn't he drafted? I'm sure there's a legit reason, but Payton has shown he can make an UDFA QB into a star (so it only happened once, and with Romo, but hey, it only HAS to happen once for it to be a possibility of re-occurring in the future)

tl;dr - Tebow is a helluva competitor but we don't need him, and we got young guys that do need to see the field and get quality time, so, as Danno says, we can make sure the window never closes.

Clutch Player value holds true to every position except for QB I believe... Where there is a rotation there is value in the clutch... When there is no rotation like QB there is no reason to put him on the field... Unles someone can think of one instance where they would rather have Tebow on the field than Brees?
