Re: The NO TEBOW zone
We need no Tebow.
He would make a perfectly acceptable back up qb for any team with a running qb. However, I think his particular brand of fandom must make him a tougher sell than he should be. Who wants to intentionally bring all that drama to your team? |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
He has to clear waivers.
|
Re: The NO TEBOW zone
Tebow will stay in the NFL for one main reason.
That mans jersey sales is a good revenue stream for the league, arguably more than any other player. |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
I could care less if he ends up with the Saints. Its not like he is a bad guy and a bad influence on or off the field. However, with all the negative distractions of last season it might be a positive thing to have the spot light off the negatives and focused on Tebow. It would help everyone move on to something new and much less negative. Now whether or not he would make the team better is another discussion entirely.

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
I think it would be interesting to see what he could do for the Saints. Drew Brees only has a few years left and Tebow, given time to develop his arm strength and throwing ability would be an acceptable candidate to replace him.

I don't know why people hate this guy so much. Even if he just warmed the bench how is a guy who is arguably potentially a talented athlete, won't ask for much money, will bring nothing but a positive and highly motivated attitude to the team, and do it all without any support from 95% of NFL fans hurt us?

And take up one of fifty three spots just to add a positive attitude? No hate, it's just he ain't good enough to be a Saint's all.
Only people that still like him are those who haven't had to suffer through a year of being in the Broncos market. Listen to all the Denverites screamin' for his return..... chirp, chirp, chirp. |

Not their fault for not utilizing him correctly. Certainly their fault for bringing him in under that condition. |

Dont count on him playing QB. I see him as a hybrid hb/fb/te. The guy does whatever it takes.

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
I haven't seen any reports where the Saints and Tebow are connected; only thing I have seen is where a CFL team has offered him a backup role...
|
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
If he did play for us and did well I could see the shirts now;
"Tebow is just Alright with me...but I believe in Breesus". |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Hahaha! I just took a tour of about fifteen team forums. They all had the same thing posted on him coming to their team. Had the same defenders saying his failure was due to haters and he's a good guy, etc. The only exception I could find was a Bengals' moderator putting anyone who mentioned his name into timeout. Except the guy who was adamant on him playing center for them. I guess they really need a center.

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
^ lol I knew it. Tebow wants to play QB - if he did come here he would be a backup but I'm not sure that's what he wants. My guess is he will go Canadian league in the end.

Need to see it to believe it but best of luck to Tebow. Sounds like a good guy to me!

Re: The NO TEBOW zone
They treated him horrible..... You wait until after the draft, to release him pretty much assuring he won't be in any uniform this season. Jets are horrible for that....
|
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Playing devil's advocate here but we have had two starting QB's manage playoff wins. If Brees went down I would have no problem with him under the gun because he has actually won a playoff game. That kind of experience is hard to come by when you need it.
|
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
How are we supposed to pay him and who's roster spot will he take?
|
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
I agree Dude, this is never going to happen but if he sucks so bad how did he pull off all those victories and playoff game. You can say defense saved him but come on...he did enough to prove he can win games. It's not pretty but he can do it. He can manage a game.

If Tebow switched to tailback he would be the biggest double threat in NFL history. He just wants to be QB somewhere. If he switched to a position where he could start, he wouldn't have to worry about jumping teams. |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
He's a good man, but I don't want him cuz he can't make the throws. If he wants to convert to a tight end or something, then fine.

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
1. He was playing in the weakest division in the country at the time. It's possible a college team may have been able to beat a couple of them.
2. The defense would keep the game within a touchdown. 3. The offense would do nothing for fifty five minutes except wear out the other team's defense. 4. Tebow would then come out on the field and drive down against an exhausted defense for a touchdown that he would usually score himself and miraculously "win" the game. 5. Pittsburg, the vaunted yellow and black then comes to Denver for a playoff game. Half their defense was in the hospital including Polamalu who was pretty much 50% of their defense that year. Pittsburg, the vaunted yellow and black, if you remember backed into the playoffs that year by the grace of having won some games early in the season and some other teams having lost some games late in the season. 6. Now I don't know if you remember what it's like for a depleted, exhausted defense to limp into the playoffs, so think back to our 2010 season and how easy it was for the opposing team to score on long plays against them. 7. Now the litmus test: I'm not asking you to suffer through every %^$#@!! Broncos game that season which was almost as painful as watching reruns of a pro am golf game, but do watch carefully when Denver then had to pay a visit to the Patriots. They totally exposed the Broncos/Tebow for everything they/he weren't/wasn't. You can look at paper and see how he "won" and "managed" games, but I had to sit through each and every one of them. It was a family thing. My father-in-law, bless his soul had gone blind and I had to describe each and every awful play of those games to him. He is an amazing, tough, determined athlete who could greatly contribute to any team he belongs to. He seems like a nice guy, but he will never, ever be any kind of an even halfway decent quarterback regardless of who works with him until kingdom comes. |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
If there was ever a logical team for Tebow to sign with, it is probably with us. Payton may be able to find a way to get him involved in the game to maximize his potential, similar to what we did with Reggie.
And I couldn't imagine a scenario, no matter how bad it got, that the fans would start calling for Tebow to start. His attitude would be welcome and he'd have a offensive mind who could put him in a position to succeed. |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Payton thrives on creating mismatches.
Brees is the clear QB and leader. Those two points alone could be what Tebow needs to thrive. I'm not for or against it. If he does somehow land in N.O. I'd be thrilled to see how he's used. |

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
I agree with Halo.
From what is said over and over by the media, Tebow is and can be productive in other positions than qb. If Tebow wants to have a career only as a qb , he might "want" himself out of a career with the NFL. Seems he would now start looking at other areas where he can excell and start and where there are teams with openings and go for it. |
Re: The NO TEBOW zone
Say what u want buddy...tebow within five yards of the goal line is a good thing. On limited opportunities he would not be denied the td.
|
Re: The NO TEBOW zone
Where would we get the money to sign him? Whose roster spot would he take? Nope.
|
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
It's obvious how Payton would use him. He would occasionally come in on short yardage and goal-line plays where his running ability will be utilized with the threat of being able to throw. Also, he can be used for H-back passes where Brees throws the ball to him and then he throws the deep ball which he does real well.
|
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
I personally like the guy and I like his determination. I believe with Brees as the undoubted QB and leader, Tebow could learn the system easily behind him like Chase Daniels did for 3 years. Stability is what this guy needs...3 different systems in 3 years?
I would trust Tebow at QB with a few years in the same system with Payton game-planning and calling the plays. Considering that, I'd take Tebow as the back-up over Wallace and McCown. Those 2 are non-developmental and are past their prime if they ever had a prime (channeling Major League), plus Tebow knows game-speed and is a very quick learner. And what everybody forgets is that Tebow was in just his second year and had a young and raw (though very talented) pair of receivers, no TEs worth mentioning, and an old RB when the Broncos made that 2011 run to and in the playoffs. Their D and spec teams were exceptional, but the offense around him then was not even close to average. Boy was thrown to the wolves in Denver and managed to win. W's and L's...who cares otherwise... |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Ill be honest if the media circus didnt follow him like it does i wouldnt be against bringing him in.
Ill explain why If Drew goes down we are done,Wallace or McCown are not going to be able to keep the offense ticking over at a quick enough rate to put up the 25+pts we need it too.Tebow isnt going to be able to play that game either but he can run effectively and any RB that plays with him will pick up yards aswell. If the worst happens hand him the ball and let him and Ingram/PT run the ball and hope he can get the short passes to Moore and Graham to keep teams from stacking the box. The circus around him is too much though and though its not fair to him thats the way it is |
