Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Completely misunderstood my quote Mike.
"Just likable guys"... As in keeping players purely because they are likable. As opposed to keeping players because of their skills. |

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Somebody said it earlier...he takes that back-up QB roster spot and eat the league minimum. No one will ever question whether Tebow should start over Brees...if they do, slap nuts. Gotta earn that spot, however.
A roster spot (reserved for Chase Daniel for 3 years), money (league min), media circus (after the initial rush, they ain't gonna care if Tebow is on the planet). TT will be 26 years old by the end of the year as well. Leave y'all with this...Steve Young went 11 TD/22 Ints in his first two years and a less than 55% completion rate. Then after 4 years under Bill Walsh and behind Joe Montana...BLAM...Steve Young as you know him now. Just sayin'... |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Just say no to Tebow.

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Tim Tebow will NEVER be confused with Steve Young.

Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
The most recent sb winners have come with storylines
The ravens win and give Lewis a ring out the door. Eli proves his critics wrong again and gets a second ring over his brother and beats Brady twice. Rodgers emerges and gets the Favre monkey off his back Saints get their first ever sb in their long suffering history What story do we have now? Saints overcome controverse and win after bountygate? Yeah, but I wouldnt want us becoming Mark Cuban of the NFL(I'm a mavs fan btw) but that will not be better than the Brian Banks story in Atlanta. However Tebow would give us a spiritual presence that we really do need. And that will go a long way. We have been a organization with heart, we should do the right thing here. |

This thread is lunacy! I keep saying I'm not going to click on it anymore, but just can't stay away. So far I'm leaning toward chasing the devil out of the locker room and it's a conspiracy that's keeping him from starting. Somebody ought to open a Lithium kiosk somewhere on Bourbon Street.

BTW What does Abita (or any other beer) and Tim Tebow have in common? If you'd care to try me, I'll provide my shipping address so's you can get those cold frosties to my door and we'll see:) |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
ok, Seer.
Lets put some action on it. Case of Abita Purple Haze for you, or Colorado's best beer for me. I am betting you that Tim Tebow will end up on an active NFL Roster by Week Two of the regular season. game on? |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
Normally I should jump at the chance of being able to finally taste this fabled elixir, however, I feel the need to add in a performance clause. I would hate to be held at the mercy of some dumbassed GM who pulls him in just to sell #15 jerseys to the uneducated. I also suggest we name an arbiter to settle any disputes about the acceptable quality of his performance. I would ask Oak, but he is obviously slanted toward my point of view in this so how about Danno or Hagan who for some unfathomable reason seem to find value -outside of the obvious fact his mom is pure hot- in this young fellow? Would you accept a performance clause into this "discussion" and what would you see as an acceptable definition of his being a contribution to his new team?
BTW, I've had the opportunity to sample some Turbdog from time to time so I have high hopes for Abita. |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
He should get an acting job on daytime soaps...
There he can "have" played for any team and won as many championships he wants |
Re: Rumor (I hope this is not true) Tebow will visit Saints
I am lost. Is this thread now about N.O or LA beers past and present? :-)
Remember Jax and Dixie. jax beer - Google Search dixie beer - Google Search As for Tebow, I think an NFL team will pick him up and he will end up playing another position. |
We should sign Tim Tebow
Preface this by saying I don't particularly like the guy
But seriously. The Saints would be the perfect place for him. There would be no QB controversy. No big national media sticking their noses in all the time and stirring up junk. He wouldn't cost much and could sit back and soak in all the knowledge he can from Brees and Payton. Tebow would be such a radical change of pace for our offense it would catch teams off-guard. And we have the kind of running backs, lineman and blocking wideouts that could make an option offense really hard to deal with. Third and short would be a cakewalk. Maybe I'm crazy, I think Payton is one of the few offensive minds in the game that could figure out how to maximize Tebow's skills. |
Re: We should sign Tim Tebow
Sorry I did not see the other thread about him. Didn't even know he was visiting the Saints, it was just a wild thought.
|
Re: We should sign Tim Tebow
The kid has No Character Flaws , and is Rediculously Clutch ... If his dream is to really be a NFL QB one day then his best bet is to learn behind Brees or someone of that Caliber and Iron out what Bad habbits he has and has picked up from horrible coaching ( not saying any names ) and when it's his turn in the not so far away future he will be a total package ready for the Job

Re: We should sign Tim Tebow
I know that people do not want to hear this but when you think about who kept Atlanta out of the sb, and who put SF down 28-0 to ultimately help the ravens win, who do you think did that? I will tell you..................GOD.
He was looking down on us in these playoffs. Atlanta could have kept that lead or some of it and could have made a play on their redzone to beat the niners. And SF could have gotten lucky and taken that win away from ravens. Those games could have gone either way. I actually thought SF would win the whole thing, while at the same time knowing many saints fans would not be happy with that. And I truly believe that the Man Upstairs had a presence that dodged two major bullets for us. And who in their right mind thought anyone not named Lewis, Manning, Big Ben, or Revis was going to go into Foxborough against the AFC's winningest team and have a chance at winning? i sure did not believe it would happen. I have seen the AFC playoffs too many times and a 12-4 team that people are putting down that they did beat people are using lame excuses for why they lost to Denver. Pittsburgh is an elite team and it is not easy beating them in the playoffs. That team would have played a much closer game against the pats. Tebow may not be a sb QB but most teams in this league are actually nowhere close to that and their chances are worse in the AFC. Tebow does have leadership however and we could use that. And I for one would love for God to be on the saints' side. I'm done with this though. |
Re: We should sign Tim Tebow
actually it has nothing to do with tebow at all. It is freaking media circus. good point he would come here to backup the backup clip board holder.

If you want qualifiers, we can add: He will play by week 4. He might be the backup. He might start in place of an injured starter. Wildcat. Or special teams. Hell, he might punt. or dropkick. Or play TE. or wideout. Or kick the extry point. But he is a football player, and he's smart, and he was the best player in college, and he exercises every day. (Did you exercise today?) I wouldnt have him going off to the Memphis Ribs just yet. And by the way, just because somebody roots for an underdog dont mean they's unedumocated. Otherwise, I'd be on Honey Boo Boo, b-cuz I rooted for the Saints, who didnt belong on an NFL field for 21 years. SO. Mouth. Meet money. Money, this is mouth. Yall shake. |
