Re: Riverboat Ron Gets the Axe!
I kinda wondered why now, but then I thought maybe this gives them a jump on finding their next HC cause you know other heads are bound to roll.

Re: Riverboat Ron Gets the Axe!
Yeah, it's just that season ticket deadlines are usually right around now -- I literally just sent in a payment for the Saints on a deadline right after turkey day - and if their ticket sales are really slumping up there in Carolina, they would probably want to do something URGENT to try and get the market flowing again. I would imagine the Panthers are probably getting hit with a wave of cancellations for next year, as people realize that Cam Newton is almost done, the window is closed, and the disappointing season they've had this year. That's just my take on it. The final deadline to renew is usually sometime early in the new year.

Re: Riverboat Ron Gets the Axe!
This is a weird move. Rivera just transitioned the defense to more of a 3-4 and seemed ready to move on from Cam Newton and build around McCaffrey as a real ground and pound team.
I think he gets another shot somewhere as a head coach. I could see him bringing some much needed discipline and mental toughness to the Browns. Or, maybe the Giants with the Dave Gettleman connection. |

I was actually thinking Cowgirls...Jerruh probably isn't gonna stick with Garrett after they 1) lose in Wild Card Rd or 2) not even make playoffs. Rivera is a better fit in Dallas with the young talented D and a run centric offense. |
