Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
Lol. Not sure how those corn hole throws will help.
Seriously speaking though - solid skill level. Makes good decisions, can throw a guy open etc however today's NFL is so different now at QB. If I'm a GM/scout potentially picking a QB in the first, I have to ask "what can you bring to an offense that no one else can?" Take the top QB's in our new NFL Mahommes, Josh Allen, Russ Wilson, Desean Watson, Justin Hebert, Burrow (pre injury), Kyler Murray. There is a pattern here. Guys with strong arms, elusive and can create when things break down. Game changers. I'll take a small bit of accuracy away if I can find a guy who can do what no other player on the planet can do at the position. Mac could become a decent QB in the NFL but I'm not betting the farm on it. Those clean pockets days of playing at Bama are gone once he transitions to the NFL. At pick #28, I look for "special" if we are selecting a QB in the first. An elite, franchise player and not just a serviceable guy. That's just me. |

100%.
Just not sold on Mac at the next level. Especially in the 1st. As your franchise QB. I don't see 1st rd ability. Is he really that good or a product of a great Alabama college system? For whatever reason, Bama QB's have a hard time transitioning at the NFL level of play. I'd rather go defense (CB, LB) or O lineman. That's just me ![]() |

Major, have you watched much of QB Trey Lance? He fits that description to a T.

Anticipates well, lots of velocity on his throws but he can throw accurately while under serious duress. A term I like to call "staring down the barrel". He's only 20 years old ![]() There is the element of the "it" factor with Trey. Super athletic, tough and a play maker. I think he'll have a lot of success at the next level. I just don't believe the Saints would give Trey a 1st round "look" due to covid season. Hopefully he stays out of the NFC South (Carolina). Stranger things have happened though. |
