That's what I've heard. The combine has morphed into an event primarily for the media and fans. The main thing the teams get out of it is a networking opportunity.

I love S Trevon Moehrig, but I don’t think he’s actually the best scheme fit if Marcus Williams leaves. We run a single-high safety scheme and the best fit at that FS position is Richie Grant or Jevon Holland.
Scheme fit is king folks. NFL front offices are not looking at some draft nerd’s big board when they pick the best player available. We picked Cesar Ruiz because he is an incredibly agile center who fits into our zone blocking scheme. He was miscast as a guard this past season because he didn’t have the full offseason and preseason to get down all of the protection calls. |
