this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If you go with a standout 3-tech to replace likely departing FA Sheldon Rankins, Onyemata gives you a more dynamic NT, releasing Brown saves nearly $5M in cap space... That gets you to friendlier cap numbers spent on your interior ...

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
I hope the Saints extend Malcolm Brown. An above average player in New Orleans and he's in his prime.
Our D line regressed (run support) while he was out due to injury. He's an important piece and I hope Loomis and co can find a way to keep him. |

Don't disagree Brown at NT allowed Onyemata to rip & go, but we must have more inside pressure to kill a couple more drives per game; Onyemata could be that NT, find the DT Rankins, like Ellis, was expected to be... |

At worst, he's solid depth. Thoughts ? |

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
Rankins has done a few interviews and said teams need to focus on his 2018 film to see the Rankins there getting; if that's the case, should he only be signed for one year? what about the other seasons?

Saw this and did t watch any of Bolton in college.
More than concerned by the write up though, smacks of Stephone Anthony Bolton is slightly undersized for the position and hasn’t quite shown the top end speed to compensate, but he has the skills, smarts We need the speed at LB, only need to look at the rest of the South and they way they have LB that fly. |

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
Assuming Cox falls to the 2nd round, Saints really need to consider selecting him. Good in coverage & fits the 4-3 system. IMO he can help year 1. Demario is a year older & most likely Anzalone is done in NO. Jury still out on Baun. 76 and I continue to beat the drum on this position.
Unfortunate we lost Kwon because he brought another element to our defense in his first game as a Saint. Sideline to sideline guys who arrive with bad intentions is needed and necessary. See Buc Devan White. He's a problem. |
