I'd like to try and get Derek Carr

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; His Contract is friendly. He has a strong arm. He is pretty mobile. He will only be 30 in March. I think he would really thrive in our system. The more I'm sitting here thinking about it the more I'm ...

There are rumors The Texans are wanting to trade Carr for Watson and some picks. Raiders fans don't think the Texans will ship Watson to an AFC team.

Only problem for us is we have nothing to really offer in picks.

Re: I'd like to try and get Derek Carr

At least one QB is going to lose this simulated game of musical chairs. That's when we might want to pounce and pick them up at their cheapest. This morning I was thinking if the Bears do away with Trubisky he could possibly be had for basically nothing. Though Carr I'd definitely want over Trubisky.

I’d rather Winston than them 2 clowns, that’s just me.

I'd take a watermelon with a hat on before Winston. That guy is dumb. And a complete dork.

iirc, Winston’s wonderlic score was a 27, Mr Brees? 28. That presupposes you place any value in that testing..., but that testing is something all NFL players are subjected to, and it places both Winston and Mr. Brees on pretty much the same level intellectually.

I’ve never thought Eli Manning was the sharpest tack in the tool shed..., but there he is at 39! Bottom line, if you feel Winston is lacking in any intellectual manner, then Mr. Brees is right there with him.

Wonderlic does not put them on the same level intellectually, it puts them on the same level cognitively. Wonderlic in short is logic vs emotion and the reason that it is extremely difficult to correlate to intellect is because bad logic is still logic.

The two are related and intertwined but intellect requires objectivity, cognitive function doesn't. A Wonderlic has math, an IQ test has numbers and favors the ability to identify patterns.

Winston stole the test answers, Brees didn’t.

A written test and decision making under pressure are not the same.

The Wonderlic isn't a written test. It is a multiple choice test designed to measure quick decision making. It consists of 50 problems to be solved inside of 12 minutes. That's pressure, don't you think?

Here's a 25 question practice test you can check out.
