Another example of it's not what you know, but who you know...

Didn't start full schedule till Spring of '90; took evening classes while I was traveling about the globe...

Linebacker? Didn't know him. Remember he had over a hundred tackles his first year with the Saints...

Remember playing rec ball at Reilly when I went back to part-time studies, Sundays got to run in the back gym with guys like Lewis, Honeycutt, and Cory Childs...

Some days Kittles and Avery would show - wow, were they fast...

One thing I do remember about Harvey was we were playing in the front gym, he and his krewe were resting from a workout watching us run against a frat team...

A couple of guys were wearing LSU jersey, t-shirt; he kept hollering "state" - no one could keep a straight face, even the LSU faithful were laughing...

Update: Remember my cousin Tommy played either with him or against him in Ocean Springs or Pascagoula...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

He’s my cousin. He played at Pascagoula where my mom went. I played for Ocean Springs.

Grandmother lived on MS Gulf Coast off DeBuys Road (where the Eight Flags was, she lived a few blocks away) in the 80s...

Mom grew up, they were neighbors with the Favre's (his Daddy); my cousin played baseball with him Diamondhead-Kiln...

Wasn't allowed to play Dizzy Dean with them because I'd played in LA earlier that season (MS played during the Summer, we played in Spring)...

My Uncle Kris was a hell of a baseball coach; knowing what I know now, I'd sat out in LA, played in MS during summer when I stayed with my Grandma and stuck out baseball...

In '82 watching Chariots of Fire, asked Mom & Uncle if running the water line really worked you out - what! Best shape of my life running from 8 Flags to Courthouse Rd...

God I loved the gulf coast then - miss those summers on the gulf coast, when times were simpler everyone respected one another...

Gotta tell this - when my Grandmother passed, we had a helluva convoy to bury her back in Gulfport-Pass Christian - I mean to tell you this -

Everyone, mean everyone, rich-poor, black-white, everyone, stopped, pulled over (DOTD crew stopped, removed hard hats)...

MS has some real F'ups, but those people respect, mourn right...

And look, Buried my one of my best friends Wed (got 2nd shot, dead 72 hrs later); when we drove from church to mausoleum, light changed, people blew threw the caravan...

Sad.

I was raised by a dad that made sure respect wasn’t an option, but a necessity. I know all the areas you’re talking about it. I grew up in Jackson County and didn’t spend much time over there on the Hancock/Harrison County side, but things were definitely a lot simpler when I was growing up in the 90’s.

Cameron's newest song he's working on recording is about that very subject, growing up in the 90's, Raised Right.

84 - Lil’Jordan Humphrey (ERFA 2021)

^^ Didn't realize Southlake's finest (Humphrey) was still on the current roster.

Exclusive Rights Free Agent? Where's he going short of trade or the Saints release?

Will Clapp, another RFA, should be back into the fold before long as well; curious with Strief now on the coaching staff if he can't accelerate Clapp's development...
