I just cannot see why folks cannot understand that the Saints current scheme where MT13 is option #1 and AK41 is option #1A that there simply isn't a whole lot of room for production from the other receiving slots. As I pointed out before the Saints offense has TQS10 out there for nearly 70% of the offensive plays the last 2 years. If the Saints are not happy with his production, then why do they keep running him out there? Why has he not been replaced? Sanders last year didn't replace TQS. He replaced Ginn from the year before. And it showed in the numbers. Sanders had 82 targets for 61 catches in a season where MT13 only played 7 games. Ginn had 56 targets for 30 catches the year before when MT13 caught 149 balls in 16 games. Clearly the #1/#2 production of Sanders wasn't setting the world on fire. And I repeat that TQS10 was out on the field for 70% of the offensive snaps both years.

It's impossible to get production out of a position that isn't targeted.

The South Alabama kid picked in the 7th round.

You do know that lightning typically strikes only once? There's Marques Colston. There's Antonio Brown (6th round). There really isn't anyone else.

I repeat: the Saints scheme really doesn't provide for consistent production outside the #1 receiver and #1 back. Typically the other receivers are used to block and to draw defensive secondaries into advantageous configurations. Also, the other positions are used for shot plays.

I’m rooting for him. I went to South Alabama for a minute too. The program was brand new then, so it’s amazing to see them sending people to the league now.

I agree with you but it’s not the numbers or talent that concerns me, its their ability to stay healthy. Smith, Calloway, and Harris all seem to get injured when playing limited roles. Especially Harris. I trust the staff but it wouldn’t have hurt my feelings if we had added an earlier round receiver.

Anything guaranteeing that the earlier drafted WR doesn't suffer an injury as well? The saying is that the injury rate in the NFL is 100%. Every player suffers injuries at one point or another. It is the nature of the game.

I think that South Alabama WR makes the team I think I see what Sean is doing I think. Him Deonte Harris I like it plus The Saints are good at finding small school offensive Talent

Too early to worry about the WR depth. Let's see what the June 1 cuts and preseason cuts in August might bring.

I thought Dylan would have dropped to 3rd, maybe 4th but not undrafted.

If he can stay healthy, he'll help Jacksonville. Urban Meyer & Trevor will need all the help they can get.
