Sure it made news on all "sports outfits". It's the NFL. It's the most popular sport in the world. The defending Offensive Player of the Year was suspended by the team for getting into it with a coach. He served his brief suspension and everyone moved on, including the "sports outfits" looking for the next thing they could overhype. I'll guarantee if someone were to ask anyone associated with the team if there was any lingering issue, to a man they'd most likely laugh in that person's face.

It's just when someone tells me that they don't have any issues with another person I believe them. I guess it's just my trusting positive nature and belief in humankind. Believe whatever you want if it makes you feel better. That, of course, is your prerogative. If you think Thomas is some sort of prima donna, then fine. That, too, is your prerogative.

First of all, ST wasn't "hoping two players don't hold a grudge", he was saying that he is convinced that they do hold a grudge and I was simply explaining that both have said they weren't and there is no reason for them to lie about that. I emphasized the "you" because if there truly is no longer an issue between the two of them as they claim then it is, by process of elimination, an issue for anyone that still believes an issue still exists. That individual is actually the one holding the grudge, not the two person's actually involved. In no way is any of that an insult. Have either of you ever had a fight or an argument with someone else? I know I have and in every case we were able to move on and leave it completely behind us. That is the way it usually works between two adults.

As for being there for both fights involving Thomas and Smith, no, I wasn't. But the cause (for the most part), result, and aftermath were presented in pretty clear depth. All of Smith's altercations were covered in depth on ESPN The Magazine and while we were not told exactly what Garner-Johnson said to draw the punch, the result and aftermath were addressed by Sean Payton via the media.

As for Dobler and grudges, there are undoubtedly dozens, if not hundreds of fights in practices and games in the NFL, college, etc. every year and while there is mostly likely a handful of grudges held, that clearly isn't the normal case.

To me it just isn't logical to think the very worst when every indication is that the worst is not the case.

But like you said, ST is an adult and can articulate his own case. By the way, this discussion in no way alters my positive feeling toward either of you.

I was explaining it to you. You seemed to have misinterpreted what he was saying. Our friend, ST, has shared on many occasions that he feels like Thomas is holding some sort of grudge and he feels like it can be detrimental in the locker room. And, no, I told you what Smith, Thomas, and others said about what they feel and think. Huge difference there, Boston. None of us can be in their heads. We can only rely on what they say. If they say and demonstrate that whatever past issue is behind them why not believe them?

And I don't get the comparison between Steve Smith and Michael Thomas anyway other than they are both WR's. Smith was involved in three encounters in his career. Thomas only once and that isolated event was instigated by Gardner-Johnson. I would think the comparison would be a better fit between Smith and Gardner-Johnson who has drawn punches from three different player in his short career. When has Thomas ever given the impression of being some sort of locker room trouble maker?
