Which, besides my piss poor spelling and grammar, is why I wouldn’t be a good fit for that career field. If my name goes on it, I own it. Movies aren’t entirely factual but they do get close enough to home, and I’ve seen enough to understand the Chief Editor takes his liberty to do what he is charged with, increase circulation. That title actually could lead someone to believe the author has an axe to grind with the other publication.

I don’t read much ESPN, CNN. Fox, USA Today, etc for precisely this reason. Obscure publications is where the transparency tends to reside.

Sadly, it isn't even The Editor that generates the headlines. It could either be a copy editor or a layout designer. Back in my hard copy days the layout designer would come up with something that fit the space. It the new digital world it is different, but there's still someone that posts the story and provides the title/headline.

And it's annoying that national writers overlook smaller market players...

Like Aaron Rodgers

The Green Bay Packers are located in the smallest media market of any NFL, NBA or MLB franchise. But despite its small size — the city has a population of just more than 100,000 people — the games are regularly sold out.

And yet, the league ignored, at least suppressed, their own protocols...

Different rules for different players?

When you look at total television markets, Saints are easily the smallest, but amongst the most loyal, in the country...

League tries to spin they're support for their favored small markets like Pittsburgh and Green Bay, but it's very deceptive...

Factor nearly all of West Virginia (Pittsburgh) or Milwaukee et al Wisconsin (Packers), those teams easily have Top 15 market size/share in the league...

And with Carolina, probably the fastest growing market in the country, they're now a Top 15 total market as well...

That's why those teams get a lot of favoritism from the league (schedule, rulings, etc) even in their down years...

Another example, see the name at the top of the list? Yet who's the featured player...

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a lot of northern Louisianna Cowboy's fans?

Many years ago, yes, when they were actually good. But I have lived here in northwest Louisiana for 35 years. Everything east of us is solid Saints country. Here in the Shreveport/Bossier area the local station that carried NFC games was owned by a Cowboy's fan. He used to always choose to broadcast the Cowboys games over the Saints when both were broadcast at the same time. He always caught hell because of it. He finally relented and started a poll to ask viewers which game they would prefer if both were being aired at the same time. The Saints came out on top by a large margin in every occasion. After a couple of years he dropped the poll and went back to doing what he wanted.

I see Saints gear around here ten to one all year round. It did increase, of course, after the huge influx of Katrina transplants that stayed.

But, yes, there are Cowboys fans around here that also claim to be Saints fans. Which ever team is winning is the Cowpatty fan motto.

Kind of like the movie The Perfect Storm, which was based on a true story.....THEY LEFT THE DOCK.:p
