Cut, absolutely not. But teams are targeting our weaknesses. Werner played well in pass coverage today. Probably better than Davis ever has. Werner struggled in run assignments. Davis dominated. Things will work out once Kwon is back.

Oh come on. Werner didn’t have a single pass break-up today.

Re: Observations from the Saints' Win against the Redskins
That’s cap bro. Davis has been the best coverage linebacker on this team since he’s gotten here and usually grades out really well compared to the rest of the league. If he’s getting beat on routes by WR’s it’s because he’s supposed to get beat. Those are mismatches.

Re: Observations from the Saints' Win against the Redskins
Better than a healthy Kwon? I get it, with Demario we get a leader on and off the field. He’s my favorite Saint. I played against him in High School. He’s a beast. But ain’t nobody that’s watching the game betting on him to make a play in coverage. Even the announcer’s today mentioned he should have been flagged twice. As a run defender, we haven’t seen that kind of talent in quite some time.

Re: Observations from the Saints' Win against the Redskins
I'm a little older but from Moss Point originally.
I tell you there is no way anyone can say we have another linebacker as good as 56 since he put on a Saints uniform. When Kwon is healthy and the two of them are out there, man it is great thing to watch. Werner has looked good in pass coverage, better than I expected. But I watched him yesterday against the run a few times he took the wrong lane or couldn't shed the block fast enough to get the runner. These are maybe things he can fix with experience and coaching. |
