Observations from the Saints' Win against the Redskins

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I liked coach putting a fire under Winston. Maybe it’ll improve his focus. But I’m not going to hold my breath....

The fact we have only had one home game at this point in the season makes it pretty impressive too.
Offense:
All Pro Michael Thomas-out
Draft pick Trequan Smith-out
All pro- Terron Armstead-out
Pro Bowl Eric McCoy-out

Defense:
Pro Bowl David Onyamata-out
First round pick Marcus Davenport-out
LB Kwon Alexander-out
First round pick Caesar Ruiz-sucks

If I saw that list before the season I would have been thrilled with one win. That’s just off the top of my head.

Oh and did I mention Lattimore is an absolute freaking monster? Imagine if he had both hands. I honestly can’t remember a game where a corner played that well.

Improve what focus? Jameis has the #6 passer rating in the league and a 4:1 TD to INT ratio while playing with undrafted WR’s. He’s doing a great job.

Re: Observations from the Saints' Win against the Redskins

Was fortunate to get seats on the Saints side at Fedex.
The one thing the TV cameras probably didn't pick up was the Saints sideline activity.
At different times during the game Coach had the Offense together, probably happened three or four times.
He was flailing his arms waving his play sheet around.
I was thinking if he had a stun gun he might have lit up a couple players.

Oh and the other thing the cameras didn't pick up, Coach is getting a little Chubby.

I'm glad you pointed that out. And the point where Payton chewed out Winston (lit a fire) briefly was following the short 3rd down where Winston had an open lane to pick up the first and he dumped it off on a short missed pass. You could read Payton's lips saying to run the ball.

But if he had comprehended it the first ten times I had pointed it out, wouldn't you think it would have become clear enough that I wouldn't have to keep pointing out the obvious?
If at first you don't succeed try try again....or not.

I tell you there is no way anyone can say we have another linebacker as good as 56 since he put on a Saints uniform. When Kwon is healthy and the two of them are out there, man it is great thing to watch. Werner has looked good in pass coverage, better than I expected. But I watched him yesterday against the run a few times he took the wrong lane or couldn't shed the block fast enough to get the runner. These are maybe things he can fix with experience and coaching.
