Re: Observations from the Saints' Win against the Redskins
Thanks for recognizing Werner. I made a comment comparing his vs Davis’s coverage skills. I wasn’t knocking Demario but Pete has been more impressive in coverage. I’ve got mad love for Demario. But at the same time, there’s a reason he’s being targeted in coverage.

I liked coach putting a fire under Winston. Maybe it’ll improve his focus. But I’m not going to hold my breath.

I'm glad you pointed that out. And the point where Payton chewed out Winston (lit a fire) briefly was following the short 3rd down where Winston had an open lane to pick up the first and he dumped it off on a short missed pass. You could read Payton's lips saying to run the ball.

As of 10/11/21 here are his red zone numbers : 7/7 40 yards 5 TDS FIVE. Translation - most likely we are scoring 6 ... with a bunch of undrafted guys. No better team red zone team in the league atm. Oh, and those bombs he's been executing ... he leads the league in TD distance as well. Is that not "focused"? |

In honesty, I’m not blind to the issues Winston has had so far. He’s missed some guys. From what I saw of yesterday’s game that Hail Mary was luck his way (although a good pass where he took a hit) and his INT was ugly. He’s got room for improvement. But dang, his TO and TD ratios are vast improvements so far. |

Oh and did I mention Lattimore is an absolute freaking monster? Imagine if he had both hands. I honestly can’t remember a game where a corner played that well.

Re: Observations from the Saints' Win against the Redskins
Was fortunate to get seats on the Saints side at Fedex.
The one thing the TV cameras probably didn't pick up was the Saints sideline activity. At different times during the game Coach had the Offense together, probably happened three or four times. He was flailing his arms waving his play sheet around. I was thinking if he had a stun gun he might have lit up a couple players. Oh and the other thing the cameras didn't pick up, Coach is getting a little Chubby. |
