Re: Why Book is the man for the job
Don't matter what they did, this O line got it's a$$ handed to it in the trenches no run game, and wr's that did little to nothing against their db's. We were overmatched. If the O could have in the least showed up, we could have had a run game with play action, kind of beat them up in the box, we couldn't even do that.

Re: Why Book is the man for the job
The defense can only do so much. Just saying they need do more doesn't make it happen. I feel the defense IS stepping up, but they can't win a game with zero offense. This is all on the offense and the offense is playing with most of their starters missing. Once again, it all comes down to injuries. No amount of heart can overcome massive injuries.

As far as Ian Book goes ... I think it will depend on how much fight this team shows over the next two games before CSP decides to see what he has from the rookie.
99.9 % of us on the forum can agree Trevor ain't it. |

If we show little to nothing on next Thursday vs Cows, I'd be all for inserting Ian. The last thing we need to do is go into 2022 with more question marks & possibly another season looking for a QB. We kinda know what we have in Taysom & Winston. I'd like to see if Mr. Notre Dame has a platform to build on. If not, draft another one. Up my way, I remember Dallas deciding to start Dak as a rookie & now he's a franchise QB. What does Dak and Ian have in common? Both are former 4th rounders ... At this point, I'm not understanding why CSP and Carmichael are holding Ian back unless they see him as a career clipboard holder. |
