Unless the Saints have a realistic chance of signing Wilson, I would go with Hill and Siemian, work on the O-line, get some WR's and another RB if Ingram walks.

But our head coach himself did choose Winston over those guys.

Winston has earned another shot!

5-2 record. 13-2 TD to Int. Ida displaced. Shortened preseason with a cancelled game in which he had to split time with Hill. No MT, no TE, No kicker. What more do people want ?

If the Saints D would have played in the Panthers and Giants games the way did in the last 7 games he would have been 7-0 as a starter.

I think I'd give the edge of who's naming the next QB slightly to Sean Payton over WhoDat!656. ;) :D

There is a good chance the Saints move on and let Trevor walk this off-season.

You aren't going anyplace with him under center as your QB.

Saints Rumors: NOLA ‘would make sense’ as landing spot for Derek Carr

by Leigh Oleszczak

Saints rumors are going to revolve heavily around the quarterback position this offseason and the latest name to be linked to New Orleans is current Raiders quarterback, Derek Carr.

According to Ian Rapoport, Carr’s future with the Raiders depends on whoever is hired as the next head coach. Jon Gruden resigned midway through the 2021 season due to leaked emails yet the Raiders persevered and find themselves in the playoffs with an interim head coach.

Carr has played well this season despite all of the drama going in Las Vegas, throwing for 4,804 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He has his ups and downs, but what quarterback doesn’t? He’d easily be an upgrade over any of the quarterbacks on the Saints’ roster.

Rapoport finished his article by mentioning the Saints as a potential destination for Carr:

"Among the teams who would make sense for Carr are the Saints, Texans and perhaps the Colts, should they decide to move on from Carson Wentz. If Carr is, in fact, available, he will likely garner more interest than that."

I think we need better WRs and some better lineman for depth more than anything. It doesn't matter who the QB is. No one can be very good behind a garbage offensive line with no one to throw to.

Make a hard run at one of the vet Qb’s in the rumor mill, if a deal can’t be made resign Winston. I doubt teams are going to be beating his door down. I would like to see him with the handcuffs off. It was obvious he was playing with restraint, almost too much restraint when it came to throwing the ball. I believe that played into the injury.
