Interesting take.

Not sure I'd cut Juwan Johnson & Roach (in favor of a rookie). I still have no clue how the RB group will shake out.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I don't think Trequan gets cut. If so, they'll bring him back after week 1.

Training camp awaits.

I agree. Tre'Quan definitely isn't a #1 or #2, but he is a better WR option over all others not named Thomas, Olave, Landry, or Callaway at this time. He has decent size and speed, good hands, and knows the system.

TreQuan had his chances too last year. If he's going to be a WR 4,5,6 then he has competition with lower salary. The rookies, Dixon and Merrick may edge them out. Gray stays too. So they keep one more WR. As far as RB, it's time for new blood. Keep the kid from Baylor. Same for TE, keep Krull. Smoke goes on the practice squad. We'll get more clarity for both lines during regular camp since they'll actually be hitting.

Yup. We'll see. I just think Tre'Quan has the trust of the staff. We'll see, though, with Kodi Burns as the new WR coach. That's a whole new set of eyes and guidance. Beyond Thomas, Landry, and Olave there's no promises.

Then he's a #5

Yup. That's where I'd put him.

Based on last year's production (or lack thereof), I have him at a 6.

Not a good look when two undrafted guys are making plays and you aren't. Definitely not trying to knock on Trequan, but based on where he was drafted that's unacceptable.

Hard to compare based upon what we had under center and on the offensive line last year. None of our receivers had over 46 receptions. Tre'Quan only played in eleven games, two fewer that Harty. His catch percentage (64%), while not that great, was better than both Harty (61%) and Callaway (54.8%). He also scored as many TD's (3) as Harty on fewer targets. Last season was a total anomaly across the board on offense. Hard to glean much useful from the constant rotation of bodies game to game.

For a player who has been in the Saints system for 4 years now ...

Excuses.

Spin it as you like though.
