I've heard the experts say QB has to be the next big decision but I'd argue the next coaching hires could be more critical to our future than Winston so I'd guess the entire staff to be in place before we learn who the next QB is.

Agreed. We have until March 16th to make any decision on Winston. That's when he becomes a free agent at 4:00 PM. Nobody else can talk to him until March 14th, yet we can still agree to a new deal. We really can't do anything with any outside free agents before that March 14th date, either. However, we can talk trade with teams of contracted players (Wilson, Garoppolo, etc.). All of those decisions should include an OC and others not yet in place.

According to NFL Operations:

Mar. 16 Trading period for 2022 begins at 4:00 p.m., New York time, after expiration of all 2021 contracts.

Who did you steal this from? Which tweet did you plagiarize?

By the way, this has been posted numerous times - it's information we all know already. Thanks again for wasting everyone's time feeding your ego...

Good! To me, he's 1A until we find out what the new OC is looking for in a QB. Winston was under some tight reins last year and I thought they were just coming off when he got hurt. He's spent two seasons under Sean Payton and is no longer the gun slinger he was as a young untrained buck.

I watched him grow in the last two years before the injury derailed his career. I'm all for letting him have the job while the new coaches find their heir apparent. Who knows? It could be Winston if he can beat the competition.

I'd rather start preparing for next year to get QB in the draft by accumulating picks that we can convert into bigger picks.

What about the 2022 QB though coach?

This team still has a lot of quality players on defense to make a run this upcoming season.

I'd give Hill a real shot at it.

I still see Winston as the most logical option. He's already familiar with our personnel and coming off an injury should be affordable.
