Dennis Allen is 8-28 as a head coach. I don’t care where or why I care that in three seasons he could not break .250 as a Head Coach. The Raiders were 8-8 the season before he arrived and 7-9 the season after he left.

Moving Dennis Allen to HC f***s with our defense. STOP f***ing with a great defense. We are going to NEED the continuity of Allen+his defense to get us through the teething pains of a new HC, QB, and offensive game plan. The defense is the ONLY stable piece to our puzzle.
That's all good and fine IF Dennis Allen was willing and able to remain as DC with someone else on the staff assuming HC duties. Or, able to remain on as DC if someone from the outside assumes those duties. I cannot remember a time that a team brought in a HC from elsewhere and kept the prior HC's staff in place. It could have happened, but not to my knowledge.

Oh yes we do, but we DO NOT have a race-baiter. Well, we have one, but he won't be doing that here anymore.

You definitely have good reason for wanting Allen to take over for Payton. One would think/hope we could maintain continuity with that move. I think you’re probably right in that regard. I just think we’d benefit from a new mind on the offensive side of the ball. We need some innovators. I think our offense is a little stale even with the players that we’ve lost. The way SF is using Deebo Samuel and Miami so using Jaylen Waddle, I’d love to see that level of creativity. Why haven’t we put Harris at running back and had him run routers with a linebacker matched on him? We gotta continue to grow with the league…or better yet be a step ahead of the league. I don’t think Allen would provide that spark.

But it’s likely that a new Head Coach coming from outside the organization would want his own staff. Plus, Allen may bolt if not given the HC job. Point is A LOT could change if an outside coach comes in. Less likely changes if Allen is promoted.

If Mark Ingram thinks Dennis Allen is the best candidate, I'm on board.

Did he say that? Or am I too nerdy to know when someone is being sarcastic?

THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS COACH FRANK REICH inherited the partial coaching staff assembled by Josh McDaniels prior to his backing out of the job.

Three assistant coaches – defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo and defensive line coach Mike Phair – already had been hired during the post-season.

This year Matt Eberflus, Defensive Coordinator was hired by the Bears to become their Head Coach.

I get where you are coming from as far as the offense goes. I'd like to see what Pete Carmichael is capable of coming completely out from the shadow of Sean Payton. Sure, he's done some playcalling and "playbooking", but Payton has always been in the driver's seat when it came to the offense. Even during the suspension year it was the Payton playbook they were running. Not sure of anyway to keep what semblance of success we have going without keeping pieces in place.

Our cap is not as dire as some think. They just do not understand the dynamics of this cap management concept. Our roster is also not lacking of talent. There's no reason why we can't keep anyone we want as far a free agents go. We have the second best record in the NFL over the past five seasons, including 2021. It's definitely not time for a rebuild.
