Underhill believes we could see a Co-DC of Nielsen/Richard.

What does it matter, Dennis Allen said he plans to still call defenses...

Make a decision, pick one, and run with it - leave Nielsen as Asst Head Coach, make Richard the DC...

Rumors that Eric Bieniemy is on the outs at KC. Their other coach was hired by the Giants.

Did we dodge a bullet in not hiring him?

Co-defensive coordinators?

Kris Richard kinda did that while with Dallas/Marinelli.

Interesting.

Interesting.

I've heard it said before that if you have 2 coordinators, you don't have one. Even if Dennis Allen is calling the plays, you need someone to be the second in command. But that's just me.

I guess I could see a scenario where Richard focuses on secondary, Nielsen on D line. You're probably asking a lot from two guys who could be solo DCs for many teams today. But hey, if they're set on winning the SB as a group, it's one hell of a group.

And I guess simple economics come into play - if both are compensated as a DC by the owner it might make it more attractive for the both of them as responsibilities are shared.

Simplify the chain of command, make Richard the DC, Allen has stated he's still calling plays, but Richard gets a promotion he's earned...

Besides, Nielsen is already Asst Head Coach, unless that was taken away; that's not a bad badge to have next to your name, ask Dan Campbell...
