Not sure I like the co-defensive coordinator arrangement, but we'll see...

Should have just promoted Richard to DC, let DA call plays (his prerogative), and let Nielsen remain Asst HC...

Do the titles matter if their duties are well defined within the organization?

When you have two leaders you don't have a leader. I don't expect you to understand until and unless you can find a tweet to copy and paste.

It can be confusing to not only the locker room, but the rest of the world that speak a language and understand what the DC is responsible...

I also suspect that naming them both DC would give the Saints org leverage should other teams come sniping...

Agreed...when you have two leaders, you have none. Who is responsible when it works? and who is responsible when it fails.....Regardless of leverage I just don't think it's a good idea. Someone needs to have their name on it, whether they succeed or fail.

If their duties were the same there would absolutely be an issue with shared responsibility. But if their duties were isolated to each of their areas of expertise primarily and play-calling based upon their individual areas of expertise being handled by Allen, there would be a clear definition of the separate areas of responsibility. Check out the Ross Jackson YouTube video in the other thread or my quick summary.

Was actually warming to the idea of Kris Richard just focusing on coordinating the defense and DA calling plays, that way Richard could take on the position in manageable portions...

IMO this is a temporary title for Kris.

He's likely moving on after this season.

Mike Triplett points out that the titles don't matter as much as just keeping the two on staff.

Nothing for Morton or Strief, yet, it appears. I would assume they'd be retained, too.

I'm sure somebody will tweet an opinion you can borrow if you wait awhile...

While I really was impressed Dennis Allen was able to get Marrone to come back to the NFL, the Saints for that much, we still have a personnel problem on the interior...

I had forgotten that the Saints were one of only a few that had never had a black coordinator. Significant.

With a racist name like "Guido" I bet you were very well aware and this is you trying to cover it up.

Also curious if and how much Marrone can improve Calvin Throckmorton, Landon Young and James Hurst; and would Will Clapp be brought back and improved...

Kodi Burns will immediately have an impact on the draft class this year with regards to WRs...

He's coached them at camps or recruited them for school...

It won't hurt my feelings if they want to bring in Metchie III or Jameson Williams while they are at it ;).

Day 2? I'd pull the trigger.

I’d take Jameson Williams at 18. I don’t care if he won’t be ready for the start of the season because of the injury.

Marcus Davenport, Andrus Peat & Payton Turner come on down ... IMO great hire by Dennis Allen and the Saints front office.

New ideas, new faces, different perspectives on conditioning.

Change is good.

With this salary cap and this roster, they need immediate contributors even with #CantGuardMike back in the fold...

This is a good read on Rhea while he was working up in Indiana U. Soft tissue injuries were down ...

Looking like a serious hire by Dennis Allen.
