The guy seems like a douchebag. The type that thinks he's way more important than he really is.

Re: Alvin Kamara Arrested

Impugning the victim, even if assessments of his character are accurate, doesn't change the fact Kamara showed poor character, horrible reaction in that event...

In Kamara's own words, he chased the man down; and to defend him saying he wasn't the only one is a moronic false position - we're all responsible for our part, actions...

Am going to let this play out; suspect because of his status as an NFL player he has received and will get consideration most of us mere mortals wouldn't...

But character is a big part of the players, teams I choose to support, and based on facts and information released to this point, my feelings for Kamara have changed...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Here's a hypothetical:

I'm at a lounge in Vegas with my wife - a new one, not the crazy ex one - and speedo is that the end of the bar. He makes an advance while I'm in the can. I find out and laugh him off cause my wife can handle herself. Through the night he sits in his seat and continues to make comments - unwelcome comments to my wife and to other women there with other men, and at some point pretty much everybody in the bar tells him to shut his pie hole.

And yet he just WILL NOT stop. It's almost as if he's brain damaged, because any reasonable person would have stopped when his target rejected his advances. He keeps on. Other people at the bar lean in and tell him to stop, but he just laughs and keeps on keeping on.

Eventually the wifey and I and a few other couples stand up to leave and speedo follows us out of the bar and continues his advances and lude comments as we're walking to the elevator - the arrogant little pissant actually tries to get on the elevator WITH us. Some dude puts his hand squarely in speedo's chest and tells him to "catch the next car, bud." Speedo says "I can get on any elevator I want." Dude advises him he's about to make a career decision. Speedo tries once more the dude physically shoves him out of the car, at which point speedo begins saying some pretty disgusting things to wifey and the others. The dude starts toward him now and speedo turns and runs.

The right move here is to let him run away. Because he's clearly a sad little man and the issue is over. Instead, the dude, who has had enough whiskey in him to be reactive decides to go after speedo. Others join in because little speedo has been harassing everybody's ladies all night long. He gets his kicked.

Then speedo whines at the hospital about being a victim of an unwarranted attack and can only remember me because he knows for sure I'm the richest guy in the crowd that kicked the crap out of him?

If you're the judge, and my history is one of passive peace and it's clear little speedo was antagonizing me and others all night, what do you do?

I NEVER advocate for violence. But in the immortal words of Chris Rock, "I understand."

Now this is just a hypothetical. We don't know nearly enough. Kamara was in the wrong, but how wrong? Roger will drop the hammer on him, because he's Roger, and those are the rules everybody agreed to. I'm just not prepared to weigh in on Kamara's character. Antonio Brown, yeah, but not Kamara. At least not yet.

When you factor the video account and Kamara's own words, his own admission, in his statement to authorities, there's no justification for Kamara's action...

There was a less than friendly exchange waiting for the elevator, Kamara big-timed the guy stiff arming him from riding the elevator, the guy justly knocked the stiff arm away...

Kamara's party retaliated, struck the fella, others including Kamara joined in, victim attempted to flee and was chased down, then beaten down in intense assault...

That's the released facts and parts of Kamara's statement to LVPD to corroborate; is this idiot posting on his own social media gaining any public empathy - No...

But as folks here have stated, it's a lot to take in considering how positive a force Kamara has been and to act in this inexcusable manner is demoralizing as a Saints fan...

And as we're Saints fans, putting fandom ahead of human decency, civility is not the right course, we're better NFL fans than most because of our values...

Re: Alvin Kamara Arrested

I think the recent statement by AK legal team about doing their own investigation probably means they are going to conjure up a story that will hopefully get AK off.

Two dumb moves by AK, hitting that dude and talking to police without legal representation present.

Definitely not justifying it - we agree 110%. I am just providing an example of how a guy can end up getting the hell beat out of him and trying to be a victim of someone else when he's truly a victim of his own actions. See speedo...

My biggest wish, because I do believe Kamara is a quality human being from all accounts, is that he learn that his actions were wrong. If what we think we know about him is true then he will.
