Michael Thomas back in New Orleans and in a good place

AG, for some reason I can’t see what you posted. It’s just an empty box. I have that same issue with a lot of jeanpierre’s posts. Can someone offer advice on why that is. Maybe I have something set wrong somewhere. IDK.

Its just another tweet and nothing we don't already know. Thomas has been rehabbing, he's in New Orleans and the Saints aren't trading him. If it were an actual article it'd just be click bait.

Thanks SF. Any idea why I can’t see several posts? Every time jeanpierre posts an article or something it’s just blank.

Could be browser related - if you use an ad blocker it can block these twitter links.

You nailed it SF. Browser. Something in Firefox preventing me from seeing the posts. Works fine in chrome.

I think most of us expected this result, but quite a few throughout the media world were under the delusion that the Saints would actually trade one of the premier players in the entire league in Thomas. There were even a few around here that were hoping he was gone. Good news all the same.

Re: Michael Thomas back in New Orleans and in a good place

I’m glad he’s staying but his attitude concerns me. Why do most wide receivers become prima donnas? Of course maybe we were spoiled by Colston. He was truly a class act. Now if we can get someone to complement Mike.

Because it happens all the time little speedo. There's nothing delusional about it.

Who are these "few" delusional people "around here" you're referring to? Either name them of stfu.

How 'bout that you spineless coward?

Just the nature of the skill positions. You out there only the island for everybody to see. Not on the trenches. All eyes on me mindset develops.

Makes sense because some DB’s have the same mindset. Revis and Sherman come to mind.

Rez was a DB himself. He's got a bit of swag. ;)

Ian Rapaport used the word "set back" too many times in that clip for my taste.

Hopefully, Mike is 100% by the start of TC.

We cannot compete offensively without a legit WR.

Still need a Z and slot receiver, but this is a start.

100% healed would be nice but I'm not counting on it. In fact, I'm still disappointed in can't call Mike. He could have made the difference last year if he'd been a team player. I hope he comes back strong with his head on straight but I'm not counting out more Diva moves from him before he is finished.

I still can't believe that we still paid him last year because he missed this much time after he refused proper medical services. They need to consider a contract addendum for stupid stuff. Lol

Given the storm clouds around Kamara, and the fact that Michael Thomas' perceived value is pretty low based on his long absence ... this would be a horrible time to trade him.

Michael Thomas is gone. Just like drew, and sean.

Re: Michael Thomas back in New Orleans and in a good place

I’m betting he tries to force a trade. Without a Qb or Payton nobody is going to want to play here. In todays NFL players like Thomas call the shots. He will try and weasel his way onto a team he thinks can get him a ring.
It’s going to be very tough unless we get very lucky like we did with Payton and Brees. I doubt Winston even wants to come back, especially if the Steelers rumors are true.

Hard to see how joining the Steelers would be more likely to win a SB over the Saints. If nothing else you’ve got to face the Ravens, Browns, and Benglas in your division twice a year. That’s murder compared to chickens, panties, and tampon.

Will a cap guru explain how you even consider trading Thomas? Per spotrac the dead cap hit would be massive.

Spotrac - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-orle...-thomas-18996/

Why have 3 holes at WR instead of 2? Oh, & what Free Agent QB would be willing to come and play for a team with no WRs?

Another hard sell. Don't see MT going anyplace.

You just gave them the answer yourself, K. With needing to clear around $76 million to reach the cap limit the chances of trading Michael Thomas is basically zero. It would add an additional $22.7 million in dead money. Cap savings would only be $2 million in 2022 with a pre-June 1 trade.

The Saints are more likely to convert his $15.5 million in base salary and/or his combined $950K in roster and workout bonuses to a signing bonus and free up a chunk toward that $76 million figure. That requires NOT trading him.

So, no, it makes zero sense to even consider trading him either financially or strategically.

Mike is absolutely saying all the right things right now. If that continues, he will likely be with the Saints for a very long time. If he decides to be disruptive, I can assure you the Saints will move on from him and deal with the cap hit.

I'm still a little butt hurt too. I just don't like people who aren't team players. They need to play for the WWE, where there are real men who really compete, oh wait....

Yes. I'm butt hurt too. I just don't like people who aren't team players. They should wrestle for the WWE, where real men fight and earn their way, oh wait....

Michael Thomas was mad at Drew Brees and Sean Payton. Both of whom he mended fences with and both of whom are now gone. Expect a big year from him.

You mean if he comes to New Orleans he has to cancel his lease?

OR, do you have him chipped so you can track him...or maybe you're just peeking into his window like you were doing Sean. Maybe you're why Sean left.

Ceedy and Thomas were tweeting each other yesterday. Nick Underhill talks about it in his video above. They call each other "twin". It sounds like regular Valentine love between them. LOL!
