Re: Why Jameis Winston is STILL Saints best QB option
I'll will give him that he has been decent in spot duty a couple of times but Peat is absolutely no longterm solution at the position. He is pretty athletic for a guard but nowhere near that of a LT.

Re: Why Jameis Winston is STILL Saints best QB option
Modern surgery and rehab techniques are truly amazing. It's not tremendously long ago when knee injuries took atleast a season to get back from if it wasn't career ending.
With the Saints retaining Carmichael I hope we get Winston at QB. He has the highest ceiling of all the QBs we had on this years roster and a higher ceiling than most any QB that will be a FA. If MT comes back healthy and we can add some more WR talent Winston should have a good shot of being productive. |

His strength is that he can play multiple positions, not that it matters much if he's on the Popeyes Sammich diet.

Re: Why Jameis Winston is STILL Saints best QB option
I would resign Armstead even at the expense of Williams being let go. I also look hard at LT/G in the draft to replace Armstead if he goes down. I feel the D could spare losing a player but the O really can't at this point. Really good LT just don't fall from trees? Not kissing butt here, but I personally put a great deal of faith when you talk O-line. When healthy Armstead is a stud.

I think Taysom would be the guy I'd go with because I think he has the higher upside and if he fails we'll just have a great draft spot.

Re: Why Jameis Winston is STILL Saints best QB option
I believe Ramczyk played LT in high school and college. If I remember correctly we moved him to RT after the draft. He may have had some experience playing RT but he was trained to be a LT. If Armstead hadn't been so good Ram would have been there after he signed his first contract which has incentives built into his contract for playing LT. It is easier to find a good RT than it is LT. I like the idea of a move and apparently so does Ramczyk.

In my opinion, M Williams is harder to replace. |

Why would such a thing be included if it wasn't a point of contention of sorts?! |
