Poole signed/injury report is ugly
http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl
------------------------------------------------------ The New Orleans Saints have signed free agent WR Nate Poole (Saints). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. He will serve as the team's No. 4 receiver for Week 3. ------------------------------------------------------- New Orleans Saints LB James Allen (knee) is questionable for Week 3, but may be able to practice Thursday, Sept. 21. New Orleans Saints DT Brian Young (foot) is questionable for Week 3, but may be able to practice Thursday, Sept. 21. New Orleans Saints CB Jason Craft (ankle) is questionable for Week 3, but may be able to practice Thursday, Sept. 21. New Orleans Saints S Dwight Smith (toe) is questionable for Week 3, but may be able to practice Thursday, Sept. 21. New Orleans Saints DE Charles Grant (toe) is questionable for Week 3, but may be able to practice Thursday, Sept. 21. New Orleans Saints TE Shad Meier (knee) is questionable for Week 3 and probably won't be able to practice when the team resumes workouts Thursday, Sept. 22. New Orleans Saints CB Fakhir Brown (knee) remains day-to-day with a knee injury. New Orleans Saints WR Donte' Stallworth will handle punt returns with the loss of WR Michael Lewis (knee). Stallworth only has returned six punts during his career, but has served as a backup at the spot for quite some time. Stallworth will also be involved on kickoff returns, joining RB Aaron Stecker as the primary return men. New Orleans Saints WR Az-Zahir Hakim (hamstring) could be an option on punt and kickoff returns when he returns to health. Hakim is questionable for Week 3, but probably won't be able to practice due to a hamstring injury. The New Orleans Saints have placed WR/KR Michael Lewis (knee) on Injured Reserve, officially ending his 2005 season. He suffered a torn MCL and PCL in his left knee. |

good on Poole, yikes on everything else. But the vikes will be without Burleson, supposedly their number one receiver, and without E.J. Henderson, their MLB. Plus they have a crap O-line. If Grant can't play, I have full faith Will Smith will be a terror for Culpepper.

Didn't they move Henderson to WLB when they signed Cowart?

According to ESPN, Cowart is listed as probable. I would rather Cowart be in the lineup than Henderson, to be honest with you. Not to take anything away from Sam, but I'm not sure he'll be able to replicate the years he had with the Jets. Henderson is only 25, and has not reached his full potential yet, in my opinion.

Good call then. So they are without a WLB. I can accept that, as they are pretty thin at LB anyway. And I am with you, I would rather see Cowart than EJ as well.

They do have Thomas at weak side, and I've heard nothing but good things about him. But then again, I also heard nothing but good things about their revamped offense, so take that for what it's worth.

I would've prefered Talman Gardner. Did anyone pick him up?
