He was still making plays on that bad ankle two years ago. I see no reason for him not to be just as effective as he was before the injury.

As for the new coach, Allen is still in direct charge of the defense and the offensive staff remains mostly intact with the addition of one of the best offensive line coaches in the game in Doug Marrone. The notable absence is Payton whom several around here felt was holding the team back.

It is not pessimistic to ask, "Will Michael Thomas be the same player he once was after not playing for one and a half years due to injury?" It's just understanding there is some uncertainty.
