Someone should remind Dennis that Sean knows quarterbacks better than most. It would behoove him to reconsider Hill. Hey Sean, if you read this board … please save the Saints and Allens career by recommending an opportunity for Hill at qb.

There's a Taysom Hill clone coming out this year. His name is Sam Howell and he probably needs to be converted to a TE as well to be valuable. Thank God the Taysom at QB experiment is finally over. Taysom Hill = Tim Tebow = Sam Howell.

No. Hill has a role and it isn’t best suited at QB. Love Payton but that’s one instance where he was wrong.

Sean Payton may indeed know more but Taysom has more than ample opportunity to seize that position and never did. He didn’t perform well enough to even give the talking heads an opportunity to stir a controversy around when ‘Winston comes back’.

Sean Payton developed one QB in 15 years and never really developed another. And that QB was already a borderline pro bowler coming. Sean was good with schemes but he didnt develop all kinds of qbs. Also, Sean is not a doctor and especially is not doc brown from back to the future so in the unlikely scenario that he were right about hills potential to be a talented qb, he still could not make Hill a young healthy durable qb. Cam Newton is very talented, only a year older than hill, had less injuries last year, and less injuries earlier in his career, but no franchise will commit to him because he can no longer hold up long enough to fine tune an offense for his skills. Taysom Hill is the same thing but less proven. Being newer to fame doesnt make him much younger or healthier just less experienced. No team can win by painstakingly tailoring an offense to a guy who will play 8-10 games a year and weathering the storm with receivers and oline constantly having to adjust to qb changes and the different offensive systems they require.

What makes you think that about Howell my brotha?

I've seen him play. The only college ball I really watch are my two favorite teams, NC State and whomever is playing Carolina. He pulls the ball down and runs it far too often. 183 carries in 2021 is a lot for a QB, don't you think? And he isn't the elusive Lamar Jackson type runner either. He tries to bowl over defenders just like Taysom ... and Tim Tebow before them both.

Howell looked like his normal self against my Wolfpack this last season. He was 14-26 and 147 yards passing with one TD and one pick. He ran the ball 18 times for 98 yards and two TD's. In other words ... Tim Taysom Tebow Hill, Jr.

Now the Wolfpack QB, Devin Leary, looks like an NFL QB.

I think it was the system they implemented this past year. He never carried the ball that much his previous two years but for some reason they were using him on designed runs and everything pretty consistently. Maybe because they lost Williams and Carter to the Broncos and Jets respectively. I like his potential. A lot more than Taysom at least.
