Penning returned to practice later. Nick Underhill reported that he heard there didn't appear to be anything serious with Hurst.

This is the curse of Twitter. It freaks out the public. Reporters immediately share any time a player gets nicked a bit, as they should, and readers expect the worst. Virtually every player is going to get nicked up at one point or another during training camp. It is the nature of the beast. And, of course, these days they don't just "rub dirt on it", they check it out immediately and even with something very minor hold them out.

He's been practicing and no longer in the red "no contact" jersey. He practiced full in both dual sessions with the Packers. He had at least one TD from Dalton that I remember.

BTW, does anyone really miss Trevor Siemian? He's still pretty bad. Even in a mop-up role.

Obviously Winston is probably rusty, but I've heard mentions of him throwing quite a few interceptions in the past few weeks.

Glad we've got Dalton just in case the old Jameis reappears.

Merritt working with the RB group is interesting.

Maybe he'll be used like Ty Montgomery was perhaps? A lot of reporters continue to beat the drum on Merrit. If he's cut, no way he'll clear waivers.

IMO his versatility will land him a spot on the final 53.
