Would have been nice if this happened before we traded our depth to Philly

Gayle Benson and Loomis won't put up with this kind of behavior. DA is establishing his own culture similar to Payton's yet different. He's already on the roster and will miss three games as it is. Find someone to fill his spot next off season. I can see him being shopped next year even if we have to take a couple of low draft picks in return to clean up the roster.
The New Orleans Saints are known for second chances but he's already had two strikes against him and trouble usually seems to come in threes. Just ask my mom about her three boys. |

Re: Saints safety Marcus Maye charged with aggravated assault with firearm, denies allegations
We now have two MAJOR character red flags on Marcus Maye.
Initial report on the DUI is pretty damning. Dude was wrecked. Before all the "we all make mistakes" people come to his defense - this is a major crime that could have ended in someone's death. And now this new charge.... What kind of person flashes a gun at young women? C'mon man. Get rid of this guy. According to the police report, Maye allegedly hit the left rear of a Volvo while driving on the Florida Turnpike at 7:33 p.m. The police discovered Maye in his black Mercedes SUV on the side of the road to the north of where the Volvo was. Maye’s car had damage to the front right that matched the damage to the Volvo. The police report states that Maye was “unresponsive when approached and moving side to side.” It also says that he “seemed unaware of what was occurring” and that he did not know he had hit another vehicle. The police officer wrote that he observed vomit on the driver’s side door and on the floor and could smell alcohol on Maye’s breath. The officer also said that Maye’s eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred, but Maye told the officer he had not been drinking and the smell was from two days prior. Maye declined to give them a breath sample and was arrested for DUI/DUI property damage. |

Well, unfortunately he’s on the team and under contract. Like we he did (I don’t) or don’t like what he did, only thing to do is move forward and see how it plays out. I honestly don’t see how it’s very different than Kamara’s situation or then position Lattimore was in last season.

Hard to win with shackles on your ankles...but we all know with you AG winning is much more important than a moral high road.

Re: Saints safety Marcus Maye charged with aggravated assault with firearm, denies allegations
Great quote. It is true that Loomis should take more responsibility for bringing all these problematic players onto the team. Especially considering he traded up for both CGJ and Kamara in the draft, as well as Penning who started off his career by fighting teammates in practice too. I guess technically we didnt trade up for Penning but basically we did because he was our second first round pick and we traded up to get two first round picks. And then Maye was his #1 offseason acquisition even knowing the extreme DUI accident. By shipping off CDJ for cheap and still continuing his ways of acquiring and trading up for more of these players and taking no blame for himself, Loomis is effectively blaming someone else, saying CDJ was the problem and now its solved and everything is great and depth is amazing when its not. Loomis is a failure blaming others not taking responsibility when his management is the common link. For all the players with character issues we have, there might be a few more class acts if we had stood pat or traded back in the draft and had extra selections, not traded up for all these players with character issues.
